I don't agree. Those are top-tier #s ... sure one season doesn't make a HOFer ... but yes, those are top-tier ... but the legit question is will/can he repeat it?
How many WR's played in the NFL last season? How many achieved 1000+ yards?

compared to Davante's 20 how much is Meyers worth? I won't be offended if he gets 25ish.Rabidraider wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 9:44 am The highest-paid NFL wide receiver for the 2025 season is the Cincinnati Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase, who has an average annual salary of $40.25 million following a historic contract extension. Other top-earning wide receivers in 2025 include Justin Jefferson ($35 million), CeeDee Lamb ($34 million), D.K. Metcalf ($32.99 million), and A.J. Brown ($32 million).
Meyers is making $14,968,634 this season.
I think mid 20s or so would be fair. Say a 3-4 year deal.

top flight would be 1500 and 12 TDs in a 17 game season, and asking how he compared to others last year is not a good measuring stick. You have to look at more than one year's results. Is he top flight vs a single player over the span of time since we went to 17 games? I could pull out a single season to prove any number of false statements.Tatum wrote: Wed Sep 10, 2025 4:28 pm I don't agree. These are very good, not elite.

Bech is Meyers replacement, Tucker has his role, Thorton will have his role, Bowers & Mayer have their TE roles, and Bech will take over Meyers Role (as long as Bech progresses as expected) Only an idiot would give Meyers a new contract and a raise at this juncture. Hes under contract and we are looking to move on with Bech on a much cheaper contract for the next 4 years. This is a business....
only fans are the idiots that would suggest to give a #2 receiver #1 money, an extension and a raise... carry on with your fandom and spinning your wheels

If this is what the team is thinking and it works, it's a smart move sure.RaiderFan1 wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 9:05 am Bech is Meyers replacement, Tucker has his role, Thorton will have his role, Bowers & Mayer have their TE roles, and Bech will take over Meyers Role (as long as Bech progresses as expected) Only an idiot would give Meyers a new contract and a raise at this juncture. Another piece of the puzzle is that we lack a bonafide "Z" receiver opposite Thornton. Tre Tucker is a FA next year as well, and it's harder/more expensive to find a perimeter guy than it is to replace production from the slot. I've already said at this point it might just be worth giving him Sutton's contract but if Jakobi's number exceeds even that, then I can see the logic in the FO's actions.

Minimal talent interspersed with the cheap contracts is a losing formula.

Tre Tucker is under contract for this and next season. No need to replace him yet.

Thanks for clarifying that. I misspoke but I still feel the same way. There's a glaring hole at that WR position, unless Tucker "arrives" as a player we're probably replacing him this offseason regardless. He had a solid week 1, hopefully he can build on that into a more consistent contributor.DanKD wrote: Thu Sep 11, 2025 10:03 am Tre Tucker is under contract for this and next season.
