What’s Cookin' on Gameday 2025
In the vein of what's cooking with Scotman and Attyla.
As in years past, the 2025 What’s Cookin for Gameday thread. Post each week what you’re having on Gameday, drinks, appetizers etc,
Last year’s turned up some good stuff, so keep these in mind:
* Each week post what you are having for food, aka main dish.
* Appetizers?
* Desert?
* Each week what are you drinking?
* Include what you're having if you're tailgating.
* If you are ordering, what are you ordering?
* Brunch, you name it.

...that would hit the spot today.......I used to date a girl for some years, and anytime I would want to make that, she would keep hassling me to make ingredient ' trade offs' to 'make it more healthy'......I gave up, as in the end, to keep a happy partner, I had to neuter the recipe to the point that I felt like I was eating a dish from lean quinine.
...her sister used to make fun of her for buying 'diet ice cream', so it wasn't just me who was aware of her shenanigans...
...anyway, gulled cheese burger with Swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion, no condiment, as if you know how to cook the damn burger it doesn't need it, but me latest twist is putting it together on a toasted, everything bagel, which I did one time in a pinch, (forgot to buy the rolls) and after experiencing it, have done it more times than not since....

Today is a “cheat day” wife and I have been working out like crazy, watching what we’re eating and quit caffeine so make what we want dinner.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:13 am ...that would hit the spot today.......I used to date a girl for some years, and anytime I would want to make that, she would keep hassling me to make ingredient ' trade offs' to 'make it more healthy'......I gave up, as in the end, to keep a happy partner, I had to neuter the recipe to the point that I felt like I was eating a dish from lean quinine.

Giving up caffeine is a tough one. Diet Pepsi is my drink of choice when I am not imbibing. I have tried to give it up over the years but never progress beyond the chronic headache's and cave in.Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 12:41 pm Today is a “cheat day” wife and I have been working out like crazy, watching what we’re eating and quit caffeine so make what we want dinner.
Never been much of a coffee drinker.
Good luck.
Caught some fall run steelhead last week fly fishing in the North Cascades. Cooking them on a cedar plank with a side of asparagus and creamer potatoes with a good IPA (Bodhizafa-Georgetown Brewing Company).

..yeah, the older you get, the more you do have to pick your spots,so to speak, and.or time them, also, ......one thing I find that helps is I limit the carbs late in the day, though my work keeps me on the move, so that doesn't hurt. ...Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 12:41 pm Today is a “cheat day” wife and I have been working out like crazy, watching what we’re eating and quit caffeine so make what we want dinner.
...I'd there caffeine really that bad, or its it the stuff you put in it?.....honest question, as I know they say coffee is supposedly good for the liver, and some other....

Never liked coffee. I’ve switched back to tea after drinking energy drinks.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:12 pm ..yeah, the older you get, the more you do have to pick your spots,so to speak, and.or time them, also, ......one thing I find that helps is I limit the carbs late in the day, though my work keeps me on the move, so that doesn't hurt. ...

...yeah,I just assumed when you mentioned caffeine...Willmark wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:25 pm Never liked coffee. I’ve switched back to tea after drinking energy drinks.
...i've been chomping at the bit to do a workout, as I typically only work out with dumbbells, and have never used heavy weight to try and avoid the meathead look, and while hard, only for about 30-35 minutes a time, loosening up well before, and then stretching during and after......always tried to do 3-4 of those a week, schedule permitting, for the last 4 and a half decades, but I am helping a friend destruct an 1800';s house, before bhe has a crew come in and frame it, and I was carrying a staircase we removed about 3 weeks ago, tripped, and the awkwardness resulted in a neat popping sound in my right bicep, and it wasn't comfortable at all for about a week and a half, and it looked like I was flexing a peaked bicep when my arm was just dangling by my side. ....i'm no doctor, but I thing I tore something in there......that having been said, it may finally be getting better....hopefully.....

When my numbers started pulling me towards diabetes I stopped drinking all soda. Now, I may have Coke once a month. Helped my numbers look better and I lost 27 pounds.ToastPatterson wrote: Sun Oct 26, 2025 2:39 pm Giving up caffeine is a tough one. Diet Pepsi is my drink of choice when I am not imbibing.
