With this shitty roster he gets all the attention as basically the lone "star"...All the press and media attention likely softens the blow of losing every year...Maxx loves his camera time for sure.Opoponax50 wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 3:17 pm It's the tattoos. Homeboy went and got himself all inked up with Raider tats and now he's stuck with them for life.
At least that's what I like to think.
Now if he announces a possible season ending shoulder injury just before the draft we'll know he's serious about wanting out

Good move -- anything that helps us stay in the top two picks. I was for trading Maxx during the season and will be for trading him in the off-season. We need a dozen new, good players, not one or two. Maxx is still an awesome force but probably won't be in the fairly near future.

There's only one reason. It's a quarterback driven league and there's a good quarterback prospect in this draft, we control our own destiny to get that quarterback and we are finally operating like a competent organization.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:24 pm We need to consider the possible reason/s behind this decision...some of the reasons could be;
1. it could be that it could give us a better chance of securing the #1 pick.
2. it could be to ensure that Maxx will be healthy to start the season for the Raiders next year.
3. But it could also be to keep his value where it is now for the possibility that the Raiders trade him.- These users gave a High Five to the author Corleone for the post (total 3):

The best time to trade Mad Maxx was last offseason year. Time to trade Mad Maxx now is this offseason. Dude is getting older and the injuries because the abuse he inflicts upon himself by not taking plays off....he has aged past his years.
If ever there was a game to put the statue in....this is it.
Send a message to Davis and boycott this game. Let him know you don't care about the way he has operated as an owner. ....let the stadium be packed with fans who could give a shit.
Giants want to lose, and you know the queens want to lose against the Raiders to perpetuate Raider misery.
If there was a god ..Spy would relieve gramps of his duty so he couldn't sabotage the Raiders for spite and try to win.
Thanks Pete...don't let the door hit you on your ass on the way out the building.
Time to empty the scout teams and promote them to starters.
Reshuffle the offensive line once again ....it has been working perfect all season.
Time to put lil Gruden in as play caller. See if the genes are there.
In all seriousness....I believe the Raiders will win both games and the wet dream of drafting number one is interrupted by the alarm clock going off that you forgot to turn off this weekend.

Did they expect him to stay overnight at the facility? Of course he's going to leave and probably be upset over being told he's sitting. The dude plays every snap possible. That's a total non story from Glazer

Maxx aside, guarantee anyone trying to make some big story on this would have made some contrary, "Why would you play him if the games no longer mattered?!," if he had stayed in and gotten seriously injured in the last two games.

Oh, I totally get that...but what I'm not clear on is just how it applies to my post...maybe I missed something...I dunno.Corleone wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 5:01 pm There's only one reason. All for sitting him as well, and that’s even if it culminates in him seeking a trade. He’s been a great Raider, but is closer to the downhill portion of his career than the peak.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:57 pm Good move -- anything that helps us stay in the top two picks. Now this will mean nothing of course if the Raiders continue to be the worst run, worst drafting, worst everything organization in sports.
Hopefully Spytek is given full rein and actually has the talent to deserve it. No one else in the FO does.

You've got it right as far as I can see. It seems people are projecting massively.Toast wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:53 pm So Coach Pete and Crosby meet to discuss and then Crosby goes home. How does this make Crosby a malcontent? Am I missing something or does that pretty much cover it?
The only good thing this franchise has done for the last so many years is keep Maxx.
I don't care if his "value" goes to zero, I never want him traded.

The Jags dont have a 1st do they? Didnt they give it to Cle last draft?WolfRaider wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 3:40 pm Been talking in discord with other nfl fans.
Bear and Jags fans seem very up for a trade with the value being around 1st, 2nd and star WR. With one of those picks being a future pick. I would do it personally

It probably cost Cin a playoff berth last year, allowing Denver to go instead.Toast wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:46 pm I asked this in another thread and will ask it again. If the NFL was so concerned with teams fighting to the bitter end; why allow teams to rest key players prior to the playoffs when they have clinched what their matchups? Certainly some of those games still have implications and certainly the team that does this isn't punching their weight.

I'd call it an overreaction to call it a suspicious tanking move to shut down a player who has been on the injury list for what seems like forever, when your ream is out of the playoffs. It's the right move for the team and also for the player, even if the player doesn't like it.
Maxx will get over it. The NFL won't be able to classify it as tanking.

I wouldn’t be shopping him, but if they get an offer like that he’s gone.Corleone wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 4:16 pm Would be tough to say no to the Rams if they offered both their first rounders (Rams have typically valued vets over draft picks).
