Why it would be a future 1st with the Jags and a 2nd this year.

Um YES. Teams will never get max value for a disgruntled player.haji81872 wrote: Fri Dec 26, 2025 8:52 pm His value has shrunk? Umm, no. He set a career high for TFL and only played 15 games. His value is as high as ever.

I'd say the injury list that he's on every single week - many weeks with DNPs - is documentation enough. The idea that the Raiders will get penalized for this is just overdramatization by the media. The league may look at it, but there's no way to conclude that there should be penalties.Attyla wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 4:03 am The move is going to be investigated by the league is my bet. They are going to want to view the medical records, and likely interview several people including Crosby and Carroll. We better have documented the shit out of this.

Idk. I'd typically agree with this but the Raiders have been playing meaningless games for 7 or so weeks now and all of a sudden before the game against the team that currently holds the #1 spot you decide to "shut down" your 2 best players? I think you, I and everyone on the planet knows that if the Raiders were in contention, Bowers and Maxx would be playing. Like I said, I'm for the tank but im not ruling out an investigation. As long as they don't take Mendoza from us, I'm good with the consequences.chucker wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 5:43 am I'd say the injury list that he's on every single week - many weeks with DNPs - is documentation enough. They may look at it..... but the results of that investigation won't come to anything because what they're doing is reasonable even without looking at draft position. As you get closer to the end of the season, sitting a valuable guy to make sure he's healthy for next year becomes a more reasonable choice. Plus the Raiders play two teams who are already out of the playoffs so they don't have any impact on playoff seeding. It's just not a thing. I suppose there's nothing else for Raider fans to talk about though.

he is our best defensive player. It is not even close. We were not winning because we have shit at every other position, not because of Crosby. Jesus, you guys act like we should be in the playoffs with Maxx and the keystone cops we have been trotting out there.Swagron wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 4:10 am I’m sure this clown loves all the attention. Not winning anything with him, may as well see what you can get for him.
As for attention, other than interviews and his podcast, he just plays. And a ton of the guys have podcasts and they almost all do interviews or press conferences.

For teams out of the playoffs and games that have no playoff implications, teams should be able to treat these worthless games like pre season and use them to evaluate players.
As for Max, he's been great but his me-me center of attention whore grows old.
I don't care either way, keep him or trade him.
Go Giants!!! lol

All that looks cute on paper but anyone with half a brain knows what the Raiders and Giants are doing. Let's hope the league doesn't have half a brain.

I'd say that anyone with half a brain can see that Maxx actually has an injury. And obviously the team will treat that injury differently than if they were playoff bound. It's not like they're sitting a completely healthy player. I think the team is completely in their rights to sit him down (and Bowers too) and protect him from further injury that makes his future less valuable.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 7:06 am All that looks cute on paper but anyone with half a brain knows what the Raiders and Giants are doing. Yup, and recently some on here were crucifying our coach for not giving rookies/subs a chance to show what they can do...well, we will likely be seeing just that in our final 2 games.Rabidraider wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 6:41 am For teams out of the playoffs and games that have no playoff implications, teams should be able to treat these worthless games like pre season and use them to evaluate players.

There are only a very few people who actually know what the Raiders' strategy is for not playing certain players in our 2 finales, but those people are certainly not going to tip their hand, and neither are they going to post there reason on here.
The NFL may do their due diligence and posture as if to seriously "investigate" the Raiders, but actually proving any sort of perceived "tanking" would be next to impossible.

Here is my logic, and maybe it is flawed, but it is about timing. Ha we made these moves before this time, we are just being precautionary. But we make these moves when we are about to play a Giants team that has as much to gain by losing out as we do. And we are about to play a very wounded Chiefs team after that. If we had done this prior to this week, we get a glance from the league and that is about it. But because there is a lot on he line, the league is at the very least do a show me investigation, if for no other reason than because of the media and outrage from fan bases across the spectrum. The league does not give one shit about fan's opinions but they do care about their image and they do care about teams throwing games. We do this before last game, we are clear, we do this now, we get a bit of the microscope on us whether guys have been on the injury report or not.chucker wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 7:12 am I'd say that anyone with half a brain can see that Maxx actually has an injury. Couldn't agree more. Was literally going to say it's all about the timing. Does Maxx have an injury? Maybe. So does every player at this point. But if he's been listed on the injury report for weeks, then they should of "shut him down" then. Doing it now screams red flag.Attyla wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 7:28 am Here is my logic, and maybe it is flawed, but it is about timing.
