Correct we don't know it as fact.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 8:02 am Would the new DC want Maxx or would he want more picks to spend on the defensive side of the ball? We truly dont know that.
However we've all been around, it's the one bird in the hand two in the bush.
Maxx you have a All Pro mid-aged, the picks you have a 30% chance of it being a good pick at all, probably 10% at best for All-Pro.
There's also no guarantee which picks would be for D either.
Coaches tend to prefer great proven players, I think.
Generally Speaking:
We're all well aged men here and I don't get what he's said publicly is out of bounds. It's been opinionated in a positive way almost always. Him not wanting to sit out is a good thing, that's a player you want. His thoughts on Pierce, we're reasonable at the time and look he's even learned from that staying out of the last two. There are players that say way worse things that effect a team. He's not a cancer, he's part of the solution.
Many gravitate to the great unknown (good picks) until they play a game or two and realize they aren't Jesus in cleats.
But we'll see what they do. I know I'm not the team giving him the compensation needed to get him, suckers deal.
Parson's deal after year one: GB loss.

No, you are misunderstanding my comment about leaning one way or another since conveniently you highlighted only half of my sentence. By that, I mean im not leaning one way or another about whether a DC would want Maxx here or want the picks bc neither you or I know for a fact. Thought that was clearly evident but apparently you still like to misinterpret and twist things.Hellbound wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 8:23 am Your posts about the Maxx situation say different. You constantly post about how you want him traded.
Having Maxx on the team is the most attractive thing to a DC candidate. Also don't assume the picks you get from a trade will automatically be allocated to the defensive side of the ball as that's entirely dependent on how the draft goes and would be Spytek's call. Gruden made the decision to trade away his best pass rusher in Mack and he still gets flamed for it. Unless Maxx has privately said he wants out, you keep him.
No DC in their right mind is going to come in and say get rid of the best player on defense and it would still be Spytek's call regardless
I am CLEARLY on the trade Maxx boat. That has not or will not change. You bash others for their opinions saying they treat them like facts but that's what you are doing here. You have no clue what is attractive to a new DC that KNOWS it is a rebuild. And yes, no shit its Spytek's call.

Watch that interview, the title of the video is misleading. I watched it, Crosby dodged the question like he did in the Cowherd interview.RickRyb wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 8:37 am "Maxx Crosby SHUTS DOWN reports that he wants out of the Las Vegas Raiders! @dandakich"
Yet he did

If you trade Maxx you must address the position, immediately, and no guarantees. You could also see a decline in his play with age and injuries, but injuries occur to everyone. He is coveted by many teams but not all can swing the capital to swing the deal as surely he’s not getting traded unless we get a big haul. I won’t sway my opinion, I think you trade him for a deal that’s an A plus grade for us. If not, he’s still a prime player, but father time is undefeated and will be for all eternity. It’s a tough call and hopefully we get it right. I just don’t want a scenario where we’re left punching ourselves in the dick because we didn’t pull the trigger. His value will never be more than it is right now , starting today.

I think Crosby probably flew off the handle when he was shut down and did text people like Glazer about wanting out. Hondo (take it for what it’s worth) has also alluded to it was the way he was shut down/notified, rather than the decision to sit him.
I also think after a few weeks now he’s calmed down, but the “insiders” will not let it go, and that’s why it’ll resurface. And then there is the raiders POV. I don’t think they took too kindly to his antics and will likely call his bluff if he wants out.
All of this could calm down in a weeks time if we somehow get ahold of Schwartz (or Rob Leonard). Of course they would want Maxx and Maxx would want to play for him. I just don’t think the raiders are going to sweet talk and beg Maxx this go around. You want to be here, great. You don’t, we can make that happen too.

No. I’ve been on the fence about Maxx and wouldn’t be mad if we traded him but I think the new coach would be wise to keep Maxx. There isn’t another top guy on the defense to lean on.LayneStaley wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 9:29 am

The position should be and should of been addressed regardless. Ask yourself this, by trading Maxx, are we really looking at that big a drop off in terms of wins/losses? How about production? The answer is no. Maxx is not and was not a game wrecker like Garrett or TJ Watt. We would probably be better off acquiring two DEs who are not as good as Maxx and get younger with better production.Viper wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 9:39 am If you trade Maxx you must address the position, immediately, and no guarantees. I will wait to hear from our new HC regarding the direction we are going on a number of fronts. Certainly the DC decision, and the Maxx decision is going to be addressed over the next few days.
I will admit, I am firmly on the do not trade your best defensive player over him being pissed over being IRd. I also heard him talk about his mistake over Pierce. When I was 28, I was dumb as f[raiders_icon]ck. I did shit that the 40 year old version of myself I would not have done. I lead with my dick half the time and the other half the time I lead with my dick. The 40 year old version of me was much more thoughtful and far less impulsive. So Maxx made a mistake. Good, he did not kill a girl and her dog or other stupid shit we have seen over the years. He learned, good for him.
That said, I will wait for the tea leaves to reveal the future, and live in the now.

Good take. I would rather have players that average 2/3 of his production at both ends.BoKnows81 wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:00 am The position should be and should of been addressed regardless. Listening to the interview sounds like he suspected someone in the organization possibly leaked out to the press that he left the facility upset about being shutdown.Gmac wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 9:43 am I think Crosby probably flew off the handle when he was shut down and did text people like Glazer about wanting out. I dunno man, I’d think the HC and Spy would have the final say.Attyla wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:01 am I will wait to hear from our new HC regarding the direction we are going on a number of fronts. Certainly the DC decision, and the Maxx decision is going to be addressed over the next few days.

Anyone could have known that he was upset, posting the video he did, it didn't take a leak, but adding to the fact, Pete spoke openly about Maxx being upset and leaving the facility. It wasn't really a secret.tatalalicious wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:07 am Listening to the interview sounds like he suspected someone in the organization possibly leaked out to the press that he left the facility upset about being shutdown.

Oh I agree, but I think the HC will address it or the DC in the coming days. I could be wrong, I still let my dick direct my thoughts on occasion.Viper wrote: Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:08 am I dunno man, I’d think the HC and Spy would have the final say.

You know when you entertain keeping a guy like Maxx? If you bring in a Mike Tomlin, John Harbaugh or Robert Saleh at HC. You think Klint Kubiak gives a f[raiders_icon]ck about having Maxx Crosby? Let's be honest, the only reason Klint is coming here is bc of Fernando Mendoza. If we didnt have the #1 pick, no way Brady and Spy go to Klint with "but but but we have Maxx Crosby who's about to turn 30 years old Klint". He would of pulled a Ben Johnson faster than we would be able to blink.
