Yea im good. I don't even want to get in a plane let alone jump out of one. 30 deaths per year compared to 0 deaths per year if you don't skydive.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 4:40 am I actually have knowledge in this one. Deep sea diving, skydiving and the like are not restricted nor are the players advised not to engage in the activities. When Rothlesburger got injured riding his motorcycle it came out that he had no restrictions in his contract about such things. And sparring is included in that way. Our own Lyle Alzado, when he was a Bronco, had a full on exhibition match against Ali. And in typical Alzado style, he went to war and did not treat it as an exhibition match. Players are encouraged to use all safety measures in their down time activities but they are allowed to have a life.
And for the record, skydiving is relatively safe. there are around 30 deaths per year. 10 people die per year in shark attacks. Same for hang gliding deaths. You actually have about the same chances of dying from a lightening strike as you do skydiving. And I highly recommend you try skydiving. Helluva lot of fun. Just do it in the spring or summer. The experience of going from high up where it is actually quite chilly to the heat of the day is cool as hell.
As for Maxx, who cares. He hopefully won't be a Raider for much longer.

You don't want a guy getting hurt, but some fight training is actually really good for a passrusher. I think Aaron Donald used it a lot.

And Strickland isn't a heavyweight. It's a nice effort vs a pro, but giving Pete Carroll trying to wrestle vibes.

Wouldnt it be great for our season if he tore up his knee living his best life? That way we dont get any production and nothing in trade. This guy has very poor decision making skills and impulse control. Just another nail in the Crosby fatigue coffin. Would you feel the same way if Mendoza started fooling around in the ring with MMA fighters?

You cant compare # of deaths directly unless the denominators are the same. Whats the total number of parachute jumps in a year compared to the total number of dips in the ocean in a year?Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 4:40 am

Aaron Boone had the remaining years of his NYY contract voided after the 2003 season after he got injured playing B-ball. IIRC that was put in his contract.

This would prolly be more useful than getting punched in the face.chucker wrote: Sun Mar 01, 2026 6:10 am You don't want a guy getting hurt, but some fight training is actually really good for a passrusher. I think Aaron Donald used it a lot.

I could rationalize that this type of hand fighting training has relevance to a pass rusher in getting leverage over his opponent. Punching and kicking arent football moves. I dont see where that would help in football beyond the aerobic exercise benefit.

My goodness these are elite athletes. They are not like you throwing your back out while taking out the garbage. Hes not in an actual fight. Im sure hes perfectly fine doing this as long as hes following doctor instructions about level of activity.

If Mendoza did this, you know as well as I do, that he would be crucified. Why the difference?

I have no issue with Crosby sparring. I do have an issue with him dropping his hands in front of the former UFC middleweight champion who has a few screws loose and is known for going full bore in sparring regardless of training partner.
As a side note, it’s interesting to see the cardio differences as it relates to different sports. You can clearly see Maxx is a bit winded (evidence by leaving his hands low). On the football field the guy has non stop motor. This goes for all sports/exercise and why cross training is relevant.
