One would think that those "journalist" could, or should figure something simple like that out. How much do they get paid?!!chucker wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 9:12 am Just because nobody has the title of QB coach, that doesn't mean that someone isn't working with the QB.

I’m saying it here first, I’d bet a hundred bucks on the raiders not taking Mendoza with the first pick after this being announced. I just got that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach that they’re gonna end up trading the pick unfortunately. To not have all the help you can get for a first round and first pick overall QB coming in just worries me, especially as a lifelong raiders fan constantly left scratching his head. You’d think they’d be doing all they could and bringing in everyone possible that could help Mendoza, unless they weren’t planning on taking him.

I thought Coach Klint was going to coach Fernando personally.

Let's see how much balls you really have. Up that wager to $5000?

Collectively, they will have a plan in place considering we’re almost certain to draft the biggest asset we’ve had in a long time. Kubiak alluded to this in one of his first comments, that he gets input from literally everyone, including players. Plenty of coaches on staff that can properly lead Mendoza, including Kubiak himself. Not worried at all, and it actually is the better option if they didn’t think anyone available was the right fit.chucker wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 9:12 am Just because nobody has the title of QB coach, that doesn't mean that someone isn't working with the QB. I wouldn't get too worked up over titles. Holz and McQueen have coached QBs before. If Kubiak doesn't name a QB coach then he can wait and see which of the guys on staff might be best to develop in that area as a coach - because he hasn't worked with these guys before. If you hire a guy as a QB coach, you might fence yourself in a bit more and regret it later.
Square peg square hole, actual game plan and it’s a good look. We’re just not accustomed to it.

Referencing my above post, it is better to mentor Mendoza with qualified coaches already on staff as opposed to giving him someone who our organization doesn’t consider a fit for the direction we want to head in. If a person isn’t available that fits your vision, don’t force it.Raidahs89 wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 11:54 pm I’m saying it here first, I’d bet a hundred bucks on the raiders not taking Mendoza with the first pick after this being announced. That’s a pretty ballsy bet because odds are pretty high we’re drafting Mendoza.

Yep, we saw that with Brennan, we were better off with no OLine Coach in 2025. At least we get personnel in the right places. To me, why go through another Chip Kelly situation, why force a square peg into a circle. Kubiak running the offense with McCoy and Janocko in title, but all 3 are QB whisperers. It will be great, just make sure they are all on the same page.Viper wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 4:07 am Referencing my above post, it is better to mentor Mendoza with qualified coaches already on staff as opposed to giving him someone who our organization doesn’t consider a fit for the direction we want to head in. Good example. If we didn't have an oline coach then Philbin would have been de facto oline coach. And we might have won another game and missed out on a QB. We need to send Brennan Carroll a Mendoza jersey as soon as they are available.raiderjohn wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 7:06 am Yep, we saw that with Brennan, we were better off with no OLine Coach in 2025. I think Brennan's epic and authentic tank earned an authentic jersey
