...i'm not so familiar, but many who suggest they are ,seem to think he might not be a fit for what we supposedly want to do with more zone?

On our offense a true super star diva WR1 might not end up being a need this year. So maybe they are eying Ioane.
Think is from what I’ve been reading? Looks like he doesn’t make it out of the top 10.

Not opposed to grabbing a guard especially in mid rounds but I could see Rogers and JPJ being solid at the guard spots.
I agree we need rt, unless they see something in what we have that we couldn't see with Pete's kid and the chipster offense making everyone look worse, but we also can not over look lt, at least quality depth wise, as Miller just can't seem to hold up for more than half a season at this point..... ...whole lot of maybes on the o line....

....outside of center now, Rogers might be our best bet at feeling like one of the other o line positions may be 'solved' . quality and durability wise.

If Downs somehow fell, you have to take him.
If we trade back and Mansoor Delane or Dillon Thineman are there, I would say they same.
Otherwise Monroe Freeling really feels right.

And if he doesn't fit the scheme Kubiak wants to run? You still taking him and forcing a square peg in a round hole like the last 2-3 coaching staffs did?Rabidraider wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 11:41 am Loane is considered a blue chip can't miss guard who could go earlier than 14. Rogers and Grant were like 97 and 98 last year so just inside the Top 100. With another year under his belt Roger’s could be the answer and who knows, maybe Grant takes over at RT.
The biggest take away is we can slide JPJ back to RG.

Well if we draft him, then you know Kubiak is good with the pick.Hellbound wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 12:18 pm And if he doesn't fit the scheme Kubiak wants to run? You still taking him and forcing a square peg in a round hole like the last 2-3 coaching staffs did?

But Madden did know a few things and the Packer Sweep vanished into history.Willmark wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 5:01 pm He also talked about it several documentaries. One was in the Vince Lombardi: A Football Life where Madden went to a seminar on coaching and Lombardi talked for eight hours. About
The Packers Sweep.
4 hours, break for lunch. 4 Hours, finished.
On single play for eight hours.
Madden walked out thinking. "I don't know a damn thing."
Lombardi was the dinosaur who thought he has one system and that can't be stopped. That's always wrong.
Lomb loved him some Lomb.
Ok I'm guessing, but that is a common mindset for many and for that time.
Al eventually fell to the same ideals.

...I just keep going back to thinking that we need a good tackle, whether through a high draft picks, or free agency, and the draft picks seems like the more likely chance to get that, all current things (fa market included) considered.... ...in as much as they wanted to make the big splash at center, that does nothing to undue the huge question, marks we have with miller the blind side making it through a year, or the even bigger questions marks at the right tackle position.

Given our signings today, Monday, I am thinking that the draft pick at 14 should focus on: OT, G, and S. Of course, BPA (see Brock Bowers), but if all things are pretty equal, we still need a new tackle (replace Glaze and eventually Miller) and a good safety for sure. As far as guard is concerned, I do not have enough information on our young guys drafted last year, but, we all love Ioane of Penn State.

I don't like trading up, but this year specifically I think Caleb Downs is the best player in the draft. And if he slips out of the top 5-7, I wouldn't mind making a big trade up to get him. He's almost a sure of a thing as it gets, and could be an anchor at the S position for a decade.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 3:33 pm Given our signings today, Monday, I am thinking that the draft pick at 14 should focus on: OT, G, and S. Yeah still G/T at 14, remove all doubt. D in the 2nd.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 3:33 pm Given our signings today, Monday, I am thinking that the draft pick at 14 should focus on: OT, G, and S. I'm still a BPA for position of need guy, unless something completely unplanned happens with a draft player.

As I mentioned in some other post, if one of the two linebackers falls to us at 14 I would love it. This is especially true because we are apparently switching to a 3-4 and both those linebackers are big enough to play some run as well as are agile pass defenders . But at this point both are mocked drafted to go pretty high.
