Hope Kwity and Tyree can set the edge against the run while bringing the heat from the LB positions.Attyla wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 9:13 am Paye does some things really well, not a sack guy but he keeps offenses honest.
Koonce, Quay, Nakobe and Crosby.

To be fair Paye had 8 sacks before this past season in a new scheme. The year prior he had 8.5. While not being a gawdy sack artist, he can make an impact there. I like the rotation there on edge. Maxx, Paye, Koonce and Snowden.
Need a couple big body boulder NT's but Tyree, Pegues, Butler, Laulu all could bode well on a three man line in different roles. Tonka Hemingway seems an odd fit but he can play. He showed some good things

Paye is a freak athletically, he is great on stunts and Ron leonard loves stunts. I can see him being a steal! still loaads of upside too, he needs to improve with his hands

With Maxx coming back I think Snowden will be the odd man out. Too bad I thought he might turn the corner playing 3-4 OLB.

Cant have A+ players at every position as long as they know why they're bringing him and the specific job they want him to fill.Sold My Soul wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:28 am Raiders pay up for edge Kwity Paye
Top 150 ranking: 103
Reported deal: 3 years, $48 million
Grade: F
Paye is a physical run defender and can set the edge in that phase. He lacks juice as a pass rusher. Paye is more of a pocket-pusher. He does not have much diversity in his moves. Paye likes to bull rush, but he is not powerful enough to win consistently in this way. Among 64 edge rushers with at least 300 pass rush snaps last season, Paye ranked 54th in pass rush efficiency with the Indianapolis Colts, according to PFF. He is a useful player. But $16 million per year is an overpay for an edge rusher who is going to affect the run game far more than the quarterback. — Popper

Being on the other side of Maxx AND having a LB who can rush the passer is going to free up Paye to have a great year, so long as he can take advantage of it. We all know he's great against the run but this could be the year he shoots back up to 8+ sacks per year like he was doing with Buckner and Odeyingbo alongside him, and Zaire Franklin and Shaq Leonard behind him.WolfRaider wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:13 am Paye is a freak athletically, he is great on stunts and Ron leonard loves stunts. Liberian. Named after his grandfather who was killed in the Liberian Civil War. They were honoring him by naming him Kwity.ELCAraiderfan wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:46 am Will be interesting to see if this guy works out for Raiders.

Pretty obvious that there are cultures with names that western society would find strange. His brother's name is Komotay. President of Guinea is named Mamady.DanKD wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 12:49 pm Yeah its amazing people from different cultural backgrounds can have different names. I’ll go with Wilson being the odd man out. Little growth in three years.BoJacksonRules wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:18 am With Maxx coming back I think Snowden will be the odd man out. Too bad I thought he might turn the corner playing 3-4 OLB.

Wilson will never be a stud, but he's not competing with Snowden and Koonce for snaps anymore anytime we're in a 3-4. He'll be a DE in that alignment. We're all probably overrating those details though, given how little defenses are actually in base D.RunOverByHubbard wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 1:33 pm I’ll go with Wilson being the odd man out.
