I agree. I prefered to trade Maxx as his constant interviews and fit about being shut down made it clear he was not all in and too much about himself.chucker wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 1:28 pm I don't think the Raiders actually lost as a result of the aborted trade. Without the Ravens in the mix, we might not have gotten the same trade compensation so I don't know that a comparable value was gonna happen in a trade. Without the trade getting agreed to and then aborted I don't think we'd have a Crosby on the roster with a refreshed attitude towards the Raiders and an extra chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong.
I think the Ravens were trying to play both ends and ended up with the scenario they preferred - signing the lesser player for the same money but keeping their first round picks. They do look like assholes for stringing it out, but people will forget that shit soon enough and teams and agents will still do business with them when opportunities arise.
I think this experience with Baltimore on the eve of the anniversary of 6 years sobriety is in fact a humbling moment for him. To be clear I dont expect Maxx to stop doing interviews or being cocky but being all in and humbled a bit is good

Also to his own long term detriment I expect him to continue to push himself and his knees to the limit and I think he will be effective for the length of his contract. He probably wont be able to walk once he retired though.

Leonard needs to be the coach, not MaxxDanKD wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 3:36 pm Also to his own long term detriment I expect him to continue to push himself and his knees to the limit and I think he will be effective for the length of his contract. I agree but what I mean as his knees become trash he will play through it and risk long term damage to himself to still play.

Yes sir! Too difficult to attach a value to what transpired even if it worked out as their is no way of knowing if the picks would have amounted to a hill of beans or even close to what Maxx brings to the team as arguably one of the best DE's in the entire league. Obviously either/or Maxx didn't want to be here and we didn't want him simply can not be dismissed. We traded him and wanted draft picks instead. They had a plan in place, traded him, implemented the plan and no way no how they didn't goof up our organization at least in some capacity on purpose or otherwise by sending him back. Zero... and I mean zero reservations they are seething at Raiders HQ about it.chucker wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 1:28 pm I don't think the Raiders actually lost as a result of the aborted trade. What cracks me up is here are the Raiders FINALLY shutting him down at seasons end saying... NO MORE! He throws a tizzy fit and in the end he needed surgery and time to fix the problem. Who was right? No way no how the coaches have not pointed it out to him!!! One would certainly hope how obvious the coaches were right and he was wrong? Was he still not getting it before the trade? Does he still not get it???DanKD wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 3:34 pm I agree. Apparently not? Guessing, but that may have been the reason if not at least in part for the trade in the first place?

the problem here is max could not pass a physical and the ravens knew that ...this is not new news to them, they had a ll the medical and could talk to the surgeon whom performed the surgeryCruisin with Tooz wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 10:38 am How about you have to do your physical and due diligence before you are allowed to talk turkey? Wouldnt that solve this issue?

Guerrero was implicated in that whole debacle. I still wonder if it was a problem with the messenger. No excuses for Maxx's crashout but maybe after the failed trade, everyone came to an agreement about Brady's fitness guru communicating team decisions about player health16 to 88 wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 4:01 pm What cracks me up is here are the Raiders FINALLY shutting him down at seasons end saying... For all we know it was Old man Pete who delayed giving the news causing the issue.

It seems he is here for the 26 season, but what if someone offers a first and a player or a high to mid second?
Don’t know their cap situations…but any team in the south(no Atlanta)… I mean that division is poo that any of the four could make the playoffs.
Rams? Cowboys? Bengals?
There are still teams I could see wanting him…just a thought

Ah damn you already fixed it. Figured it was a typo, but lessening the pillow-soft vulgarity of the word “poo” with “shampoo” was pretty fuckin’ funny.HesterLayes wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 5:27 pm It seems he is here for the 26 season, but what if someone offers a first and a player or a high to mid second?

I'm over the whole damn thing. Maxx is a Raider. The team is better for it. We got good, solid players in FA..... and the guy we all wanted in Linderbaum. Time to sign one or two more... and then on to the draft. This is the most promising this pathetic franchise has looked in almost 35 years.
