2 weird Yankee points tonight.
In the first inning 2 outs on first 2 pitches, but still score 4 runs in first inning.
Every starter got 2 hits or more, first time in Yankee history....

The unfortunately named, Cam Schlittler, looks like the real deal. Obviously way too early to be talking Cy Young, but he has been quite impressive. For a change, NYY have a very strong starting rotation with depth extending beyond the top 5. Alas, the bullpen is a different story. Ben Rice has been a good story too. Maybe he and Stanton can take some of the pressure and playoff performance anxiety off of Judge.

Hasn't given up a run over 2 starts and 12.2 innings. 12k 3BB, 1-0 record. 0.00 ERA
When Max comes back off IL the starters will be:
Cole
Max
Cam
Rodon who isn't quite right yet. 0-2 13 innings 11 walks but 17 Ks.
Warren who is 6-1 right now.
Weathers probably odd man out but has pitched well and has a better ERA than Warren 3.14 and is 2-2.

They also have additional depth with Schmidt and Gil. Its a real pleasant change to have such a deep rotation and other capable starters who get bumped out in a numbers game. Who is the last very good starter that the NYY farm developed? Chien Ming Wang?Rabidraider wrote: Fri May 29, 2026 9:20 am Hasn't given up a run over 2 starts and 12.2 innings. 12k 3BB, 1-0 record. 0.00 ERA

They will probably trade some of these bottom guys at the dead line. Need a better closer maybe a better hitting catcher.
