Raiders Go To Texas Tonight, The Game Day Thread
So here is another look at the new team, and hopefully the view is better, especially on the D.
What are you watching, what are you wanting, and most importantly we need to get out of there without harm to anyone.
Time to see more, and hopefully a few of the youngsters start to shine.

The fact that our third stringers on defense can legitimately fight for rotation during the regular season tells you everything you need to know about our team and how the season is going to go.

Didn't watch after after 1st qtr. Had other project to do. Just flash forward caught up. AOC did well against the 3/4th texans defense. whatever he did look much better than last week. some nice runs and catches out there from some of the 3rd string players.
Preseason but winning anywhere is still good feel.
Did they let the Toe on the plane home?
He needs to be cut tomorrow and not let that complete ineptitude infect the team. 2 really shitty attempts at extra points. That was so bad. nice feel good story but enough, time to be done with it. They cut the big Samoan rugby player already, time for the toe to go.

Learning lesson for Washington who didn't sit down in the zone but slid to his right. The pass was right between his numbers if he didn't slide.HesterLayes wrote: Thu Aug 20, 2026 5:53 pm I hated the pick..but it’s all good learning lessons… I loved that he chased him down and almost got him
They ran the same play with 23 seconds left in the 1st half, Washington didn't slide to his right, and it went for 9 yards. The pick 6 was not on Fernando.

im questioning that also.NewEraX25 wrote: Thu Aug 20, 2026 6:05 pm I hate that Mendoza is damn near touching his toes on the play action. Defenses aren't going to be fooled by that shit, and it's going to take him too long to get upright and ready to pass.
Ideally the QB wants to get his head around as quick as possible.

Masses made some good run stops from outside cornerback and Stukes came made 2 very good tackles.
There's things to build on.

Seems like Kubiak knows how to use Laube. Always thought it was insane when we brought him in and tried to run him over and over between the tackles. That's not where he's going to excel. Get him on the edge and in the flat catching passes and he can use his quickness. He seems to clearly be the third back ahead of Hemby which surprises me.
