Young is here for Special Teams. He followed Kubiak here from Seattle. Now in a stacked WR room in Seattle, they could afford to keep a Dareke Young just for ST, but our WR room? But what do I know, I'm just a Keyboard Koach.

No developmental QB.

Glad to keep Cleveland, Harvey, Slone, Smith and Greedy in particular.

Believe either Tokyo Toe or Henning (Canada) can be moved to the international spot to make a space (I figure Decamarion or McCollum will come off the 53-man for the SF waiver claim CB?)

Trending: TEs up/WRs down (even used a IR-d2r spot on Runyon)

Certainly seems Kubiak and Spytek are all in on giving guys a chance to develop.

some extra moves I haven't seen here yet:

Signed LB Segun Olubi; Placed WR Dont'e Thornton Jr. on the Reserve/Injured list; Signed WR Cody White to the practice squad;

Decamerion Richardson was the 4th pick in the 4th round in 2024. A mild bust.

Bummer. Make the cut only to find out the next day you didn't make the cut.

Viper wrote: Mon Aug 31, 2026 4:57 am We need to be a successful run first team to give our QBs a chance. Seems Kubiak is devoted to the old school style with a fullback. This team isn’t talented enough to play behind the sticks and if we see a lot of 3rd and longs this year it’s not gonna be pretty.

Thornton making the roster after not playing is a strong indication about our wr room, and not in a positive way.
Yes.

When looking at other teams receiving core what you will almost always find is that they have that one guy who is there 1,000 yard receiver, more or less, and then the rest of the receiving core pretty much outside of it. As a for instance the seahawks last year under Kubiak's system had JSN with almost 1,800 yards and the very next receiving option was Kupp with 593. An injured Bowers last year in a lousy system with a host of nobodies throwing to him and playing in only 12 games came up with 630 yards. Tucker in the same situation had 696. I can see why Kubiak might be excited about him.

Bowers his rookie campaign had 1,200 receiving. We have to keep in mind that while he isn't a wide receiver he's basically a huge wide receiver playing the TE position that will be moved all around and must be accounted for at all times. For defenses he is a matchup nightmare. He could potentially reach 1,500 yards or more and the rest like the seahawks are the supporting cast. Just how good they are and/or how much they will contribute remains to be seen. I can't point this out enough, so much of our success will be defined by our ability to run the ball.
