What’s Cookin' on Gameday 2026

Unread post by Willmark »

(Since I was traveling these last few weeks)
In the vein of what's cooking with Scotman and Attyla.

As in years past, the 2026 What’s Cookin for Gameday thread. Post each week what you’re having on Gameday, drinks, appetizers etc,

Last year’s turned up some good stuff, so keep these in mind:

* Each week post what you are having for food, aka main dish.
* Appetizers?
* Desert?
* Each week what are you drinking?
* Include what you're having if you're tailgating.
* If you are ordering, what are you ordering?
* Brunch, you name it.

it is more effective with food, but olive oil in general is considered one of the more healthy oils to use.

There are lots of scientific studies that show huge benefits of using high quality extra virgin olive oil.

not really the best way of consuming it. But it can deal with constipation that way. Really better with foods, it helps with inflammation and absorbing vitamins. And of the popular oils it is great for helping Choresterol levels,

The shots are growing in popularity but there are some negatives to it. It can really mess with your system if you have a delicate stomach or get indigestion easily. I am an olive oil guy, it is pretty much the only one I have in my pantry. But I am not consuming a fat just to eat a fat. A shot is over 100 calories which I find unnecessary. But he likes the taste so I guess everyone does them. As i age, I am not struggling with joint issues so the benefits to me are more maxing out the vitamin benefits in the foods I am using the oil on. Salads are a great example.

Ironically, people who fast for weight control and health sometime consume olive oil during the fast to address hunger while it does not break the fast.

The caviar of the south. I admit, while not great for you, the Chipolte version is quite good.

Rabidraider wrote: Fri Sep 25, 2026 12:53 pm So you food geeks. I've really into quality extra virgin olive oil. I even take a shot before bed every night.

I use it on pretty much everything thats reasonable, Just love the stuff. Lots of fake crap out there and been using California ranch, Cobram estates and Pantanna to name a few.

So anyone know of any other high end ones?
I recommend the Genco Pura brand.
