I'm fine with him sitting the whole season.... with the exception of playing time here and there later in the season/garbage time. I want to see him play but, If it means a better product next year because he sat and learned..... I'm all in. Of course, if KC gets injured, it's on!

Fernando can come in for special plays/packages also. I recall JaMarcus doing this and it worked at that moment.

He's on pace to not shatter rookie QB records.
We're losing one year of his rookie compensation.

....to be fair, and with what we saw last year, we would have risked far more than that just plugging him in to that, and even more so, knowing he had a few things to get the hang of, such as more under the center, etc.
....and for perspective, we are 3 games in, and putting him in to an already functioning new offense would likely be the best for all. ...while I get the whole first year compensation thing, I would think that anxiousness would be more fitting if we get to mid season and he is still wearing his helmet on the sideline, though until we see how the rest of it unfolds on the field, and with injuries, etc.i would thing that those yet to come factors will, at least to some extent, dictate how soon the gets out there......
....maybe when we are 3 scores up on the chiefs, ....they will give him some snaps in mop up time...

Mahomes sat his rookie season. Things seem to have worked out.

I know, I say it in jest.
You can't argue with the current results and was also the same reason Mahomes got to sit.
I do find it a little weird how one gets paid so much for sitting, but that's how it goes.
