They can get a first and likely more. The question is what team will want to trade for him. Most likely it's a team that believes it's a player or two away from competing for a championship. That means a low first round pick, so it would have to be multiple picks. Looking at the playoff picture, there are any number of teams who'd like to have him. If properly managed, he has another 3-4 good years in him, which means one of those teams is going to have to give up a lot to get him.SuperRaider wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 3:37 am Not really sure the raiders can get much for him now; don’t think they could get 1st rounder but maybe a second rounder…I don’t know…

The second he left the facility like he did yesterday, teams looking to trade for him got an automatic discount. It's just the way it is with disgruntled players.Opoponax50 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 8:11 am They can get a first and likely more. The question is what team will want to trade for him. There can be an investigation but there is t anything blatant. Every player on every team has their share of bumps and bruises by now and as long as I can remember, the last two games of the season is typically played cautiously whether it’s a team that has clinched and is resting key players or teams that have nothing to gain and want to give younger players a look or begin healing ailing starters.

I'd much prefer to keep Crosby, but that doesn't mean you hang up the phone if someone calls with an offer. I'd hang it up right away if the offer is just one first rounder - unless it's at the very top of the draft I suppose, but the teams looking to trade for him won't be the Giants, Browns etc.
I don't believe that there's any need to trade him, regardless of how much he wanted to play vs the Giants.

I am going to look at the totality of the past two decades of suckage. I just haven't seen a hint of tanking. Youth movement-yes. Actual tanking- no. Our 3 best players were shut down this season, but all three have had injury concerns all season. As far as Max is concerned, I can see it as a double edge sword (maybe a little tanking and maybe a little protecting your investment who could potentially be traded). Bottom line is we will never know.

If I were a conspiracy guy I would say we are going to get docked that first overall pick by the league because and for no other reason than the old man owned the Raiders and laid havoc to the league.

If the Raiders get dinged for this, then several other teams should as well.Attyla wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 9:44 am If I were a conspiracy guy I would say we are going to get docked that first overall pick by the league because and for no other reason than the old man owned the Raiders and laid havoc to the league.

Thats why I dont think anything will come of this because it is so subjective. For one team to get singled out would be a crime

That would be a black eye for the league and I imagine they get sued. The previous animosity between the league and the Raiders provides the basis for a conspiracy against the Raiders that a jury can view as an alternate reason why the NFL is punishing the Raiders. It becomes a hook that they can hang their sympathy on. They may not even need that hook, if they have a great jury consultant. If, at opening arguments, the jury looked like this......

Teams can manage playing time however they want, they don’t need a reason to not play someone. The league investigates all IR designations for potential abuse but considering Crosby and Bowers have battled injuries all season and been listed on injury reports, I’m sure both got rubber stamp approval. Non issue.

I doubt any of this becomes an issue with the league.

With the exception of conspiracy theorists & media having something to talk about, IMO, it's a big Nothing Burger.

So you think the teams eliminating players like they are is not a tank? I mean I am the most staunch guy when it comes to teams tanking but this is so obviously a tank it is not even funny. Giants are doing the same thing. Chiefs feel like they are not really tanking but they are doing the whole 'live to fight another day" thing. But the Giants and Raiders are tanking. Or is the conspiracy theory bit a reference to something else?raidersince63 wrote: Sat Dec 27, 2025 11:16 am With the exception of conspiracy theorists & media having something to talk about, IMO, it's a big Nothing Burger.
