Predict the 2026 record - your realistic expectations

With Mendoza needing time to adjust, an unproven O line and what I consider average receivers, I’m not really expecting to light it up on offense.

Defensively, we should be at least middle of the pack. That should go a long ways in helping stack wins.

Having said that, we are improved across the board yet still more work to do. I would predict we have 6 wins this year, double what we had last year. If Pete can manage 3 last year, I have faith with a better coaching staff we can do better. If we can beat the teams we’re supposed to plus staying close in the 4th quarter against better talent, we have a punchers chance in some of those.

Personally, at least another year or two to make some real noise if we nail FA and the draft.

kubiak and dennison would never have allowed that shit scheme and play calling
Thank you for proving you didn't watch the tape. Geno had a clean pocket MANY times and still looked like absolute shit. You put any competent QB on this team last year and the results would of been different. QB play was the main (not only) reason for our pitiful season last year.

Hope Kirk lights it up in the early going until Mendoza can take over. Then we can trade him for some draft capital.

I just think no matter what they are not throwing him out there until they are sure they can protect him and put him in a position to be successful.

With Kubiak coming in fresh off a Superbowl win and Mendoza arriving with a National Championship and Heisman, I fully expect the team to take obvious steps towards respectability. The defense has been built for aggression and much faster. The young guys are more impressionable without the stench of our futility and the vets have much needed hope that was lacking. We have what seems to be a distinct direction with, admittedly early, much improved coaching under basically year 1 of our rebuild. I’m not sure a team can do much better this early in a rebuild. On paper, we have made solid choices and decisions. I expect us to compete and if continued on the path we’ve started, to compete for a ticket to the dance.

I also expect Cousins to flounder early as the tools in his shed are rusty and in need of replacing. Fortune has it we have the latest, greatest model in Mendoza.

From top to bottom, the management was either dysfunctional or nonexistent last year, to the point of limiting our players' ability to do their jobs, and that includes every QB we threw into the game. And though Geno is no HOF candidate and no, I don't want him back, but it stands to reason he would fare better with the coaching staff we have assembled this year.

What was the excuse for the 5 games that Chip wasnt here and Geno started, while still looking horrendous? I'll wait....

Arguing about who sucked worse last year with a brand new regime in town and Mendoza as our QB going into next year…………is funny
