It does not matter, we get the same space and dead money regardless.LayneStaley wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 10:08 am Wouldn’t trading him before league year give us more cap space on the 11th if the plan was to go hog wild in FA? Wouldn’t a team trading for him want him sooner rather than later to make their cap situation clearer? I saw the Breer thing this morning but it’s so back and forth in the media I don’t think anyone knows shit. One day it’s this and the next day it’s that. If any team offers 2 1s we should accept it. Maxx is 4 years older than Parsons and had knee “issues” the past couple seasons. I like Maxx but this is the best time to cut ties. Mendo/Bowers/Jeanty are all on the same timeline, get the picks to help them.
Pokes #12 & #20 >>>>> Rams #13 & #29.
Why would the Cowboys do that and downgrade from Parsons to Maxx?
Obviously higher picks are better. However, I don't think either deal is going to be offered. The reason for the talk of the teams with two firsts to trade for Crosby is because they can trade one pick this year and still have another.
Didnt they also get a player? If its too much, you can include other picks. What would you want from them? #12 & their 2nd rounder?BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:37 pm Why would the Cowboys do that and downgrade from Parsons to Maxx?
It would be amazing, but I can’t imagine Maxx pulls both 1st rounders from either team. A 1st this year and next, maybe. Of course Doofus could send a truckload of Johnny Walker to Jerruh to grease the skids.
I think 1st & 2nd are more realistic, yes. I don't think Maxx fetches two 1sts from anyone but I think the best chance is a team that's drafting in the late 1st this year and maybe a 1st in '27.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:43 pm Didnt they also get a player? #12 & their future first would be even better than #12 & #20. A team that doesnt make the playoffs drafts no lower than 18th. When the Cowboys make the cut, they are usually one and done. So the downside seems like that future 1st will be very low 20s. The upside is that it would be a top 10 pick. Thats a risk worth taking. I would take that over #12 & #20. Next year also looks like a year that might have quite a few qbs taken in the 1st, which would mean that other players could fall to us next year with that extra pick. Or if one of those qbs is still on the board when that future 1st is on the clock, we could get a great trade from a qb needy team.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:44 pm It would be amazing, but I can’t imagine Maxx pulls both 1st rounders from either team. With Dallas, after those 2 1st rounders, their next pick this year isn’t until the 4th. Which leads me to believe the Rams could make the stronger offer if Coach K and Spy are looking for instant gratification.
I made up this one: Maxx and our 9th pick for Every first round ever that the Jets have. I would totally do that.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:51 pm I think 1st & 2nd are more realistic, yes. I saw this proposal out there:
Maxx
For
Bills 1st in 2026
Bills 1st in 2027
Ed Oliver
Then saw this one:
Maxx
For
Harold Landry
Pats 1st in 2026
Pats 2nd in 2027
I also could see two dark horse teams in the running for Maxx that would make some sense. Bucs and Lions. Just gut feeling, no insight.
They wouldn't. The only reason they got rid of Parsons was they couldn't afford him. Major cap issues. They won't turn around and pick up another high paid DE and give up their 2 firstsBoKnows81 wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:37 pm Why would the Cowboys do that and downgrade from Parsons to Maxx?
BTW, I dont think the Crosby thread is better off talking about candy, but to try to get these two topics to converge, Ill say this: Crosby is so dumb that if he saw a half-full bowl of M&Ms, it wouldnt surprise me if he topped it off with Skittles, thinking it was the same candy.chucker wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 3:40 pm Obviously higher picks are better.
