It's not a risk if you preemptively know it's going to work out.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri May 22, 2026 4:16 pm No, not WRONG. What good is talent if he cant step on the f[raiders_icon]cking field? Thats my point.
Not to mention, if that happens, he will be forever compared to the guys that were drafted after him and made an impact. Yes its a gamble that COULD payoff. But you can't, with a straight face, preemptively say it was worth the risk.
Last I checked, there are no future predicters on this planet.Trainnvain wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 7:17 am It's not a risk if you preemptively know it's going to work out.

That's exactly how I feel about it. He hasn't played a down of any kind since 2025 and his injury is serious and can linger. The idea that we know something every other team in the league doesn't sounds like some Gruden-level Smartest Guy in the Room shit.BoKnows81 wrote: Thu May 21, 2026 4:29 pm I'm skeptical that the Raiders outsmarted 31 other teams but I will say that if this kid proves to be healthy and has a great career, I'll eat crow.

death and taxes
Nobody outsmarted anybody. Somebody was going to take McCoy. For whatever reason The Raiders felt, more then likely, it would happen in the 4th round so they made their pick. I would think the team doctors signed off on the pick.Opoponax50 wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 9:09 am That's exactly how I feel about it. As far as Kubiak saying he looks great, that's fine. But is he gonna come up to the mic and say, "Well, I think we really f[raiders_icon]cked this one up. The guy runs like a pirate with a wooden leg."?
One thing is certain though; we will find out.

I did but they don’t show up next to my name
I dont know about that. The Raiders traded up 1 spot in the 4th. If a team realllllyyyy wanted McCoy and the Bills were obviously open to trading, you would think they could of gotten a better offer from a team further down. To me, nobody was taking him any time soon. My opinion.RickRyb wrote: Sat May 23, 2026 12:06 pm Nobody outsmarted anybody. Somebody was going to take McCoy. How do you apply it?
