Keeping Young over Jackson is surprising, at least to me it is.

What is also of major part of this trade is the 7th we gave to the Jets is in 2029 and the 6th we got back from them is in next years draft 2027.
So the 6th from the Jets who will probably be lousy again this year will probably be a high 6th round pick almost a low 5th rounder.
While the 7th rounder they get from us isn't until 2029, when hopefully if everything goes to plan the Raiders will be a top playoff team and this 7th round pick will be at the end of the round. Very smart Spy
Plus if our 2029 7th rounder is really early in the round, Spytek might not be the one in the GM seat anymore.

As I understand it unfortunately yes.
You are able to designate two players to IR for return later and they only did one which was Runyon. Assuming the list is correct that injury must have been serious enough that they IR'd him for the entire season.

Young very well might be the first dude cut if they make waiver claims

I would imagine that Laube would be another.

Has anyone looked or seen a list or made one of their own about other teams cut players that Raiders might chose tomorrow?

That stinks. I can’t find anything detailed about the injury besides it’s an ankle injury. I wonder if it was more a combo thing. Bad ankle, but also, not ready, and Johnson looks good, injury.

Tucker is a pretty good player and id be happy with him as a #2, but overall the WR room is awful.

We are going to be a run first team. It's a staple of Kubiak's offense thus the reason for quarterbacks being under center at one of the highest rates in the league. Everything will work off of the run. If... if we are a dominate run team it will cure so many ills including
but not limited too having to work out of more short yardage passing situations with the defense not knowing if you are handing the ball off again.
Also, missing from that list is the single most important receiver on our team in Bowers, who they will move all over the field along with Mayer and the wideouts putting them in motion which he also uses at one of the highest rates in the NFL to force defenses to declare there coverages and create mismatches. Making all of this work is Kubiak's specialty putting defenses in a bind forcing them to commit to the run first and causing havoc with all the different formations.
We have a brutal schedule from an opponent standpoint so this will be a very interesting year to see just where we are at competitive wise more so than win-loss. One could argue the NFC west is a tougher division than the AFC west but there is no room for doubt they are both incredibly competitive. When you add in meetings with the bills and pats 11 out of our 17 games are against the best of the best in the entire NFL. Won't surprise me in the least if we see Fernando just before the bye or right after it.
