...from what I have seen, and what I felt was a possibility from the start, based on his having been a punk, was that the more he would feel conformable , the less he would feel any remaining need to prove himself, and the more would inch back towards trd-dom.vtraider wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 11:15 am My guess is that they don't think they would be able to keep him after his contract is up. Plus the whole spitting on dak and suspension thing maybe
Plus it keeps him away from Dallas
I'm kind of in the same boat. Carter the player immediately raises my heart rate. But then my mind turns on and tells me to put things into context. The only thing I can think of is that Maxx really doesn't want to deal with a system change and Carter would be happy to deal with it to live in Vegas as opposed to Philly.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 12:36 pm I love Carter but he has baggage. You have to seriously question why the Eagles would want to get rid of him. I wouldn't like it if it happened.

But does Carter like to play "Don't drop the soap" in the showers like Wilkins does? He's a different kind of degenerateLayneStaley wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 12:48 pm I think the Raiders will be very wary after the Wilkins fiasco. Character matters a lot in Las Vegas.

I'm still hoping we can convince Maxx to say but the odds dont' look good.
I don't usually answer questions like this because it assumes I know the entire situation. I obviously do not. But I will say, I was told this would happen by noon yesterday and I was told this would happen this week. Shefter has shot down a lot of these rumors and Shefter is about as dead on right as anyone in the business. Now obviously, he is not full proof, so I will say to the question, it depends. I was not happy about the Mack trade for sure. I was not thrilled letting Josh walk. I certainly was not happy with the Gruden hire. Those were reactions to what happened, not what might happen. For what it is worth, reacting to what might happen is a study in futility.BoKnows81 wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 8:50 am
So again I ask you, are you going to disagree with them when that happens?
Figure for two quality picks, one will work out. Will the one that works outbe as good as Crosby? Probably not. Does the years make up for it? Maybe.chucker wrote: Fri Mar 06, 2026 6:56 am When I hear about draft pick compensation I look back at prior drafts to see what players were actually taken at the particular draft slot(s) in question. I know that not every draft is the same and this year's is a bit weaker in the first round than some others - but I've also heard that about other drafts that turned out ok. Looking back at prior drafts takes into account that you're taking the bad with the good of the draft in an evaluation of value and there's lots of both every year.
I started looking at 2020 - that was Ruggs and Chaisson at 12 and 20. Ruggs was a good pick in terms of talent, but circumstances made it a bad result. Chaisson was a bust as a draft pick, who later helped other teams.
The next season was Parsons and Kadarius Toney. A massive hit, and a miss. Then Jameson Williams and Kenny Pickett - for a team without a QB need, the more relevant pick would be McDuffie after Pickett. 2023 - Gibbs and Smith-Njigba. 2024 - Nix (Bowers after Nix) and Fautanu. 2025 - Booker and Barron.
It's not an "answer" for value, but IMO it gives a better representation of potential value in the picks than our assumptions about how future draft picks will perform. Results are obviously very mixed. Huge hits and huge misses along the way.
