Our Wide Receiver Room - and the Draft

One of the most reliable websites when it comes to ranking prospects for the draft is walterfootball.com. I mean you can really count on them on getting close to being right as the teams draft college players at a particular position. Well yesterday I was looking over their prospect rankings on wide receivers in the 2025 draft and I was totally surprised at what I discovered about the two WRs that we drafted this year. Jack Bech was considered the 19th best WR in the class and was predicted to go in the 3-5 round. He was a bit of a reach.
But Donte Thornton jr. was not listed at all. Not even as a 7th-FA. Though they may have reached J. Bech, he was clearly considered the better player. What were they thinking when they drafted Thornton?

Bech had himself a game today. Targeted 6 times and caught all 6 passes thrown to him. I always knew that he was better than that physical freak Thornton.

Wasn't sure where to put this. But since he was a wr I guess it kinda fits.
One thing is for sure it won't be this guy

I like Bech. Kid seems to have great hands and he will only get better. He isn't a #1 receiver but he sure could be a bigger version of Renfrow.

We got a #3 as our #1 and nothing else if we are being honest.

He's slowly but surely raising my opinion of him. It turns out that when you don't play a guy it's hard to say if he's worth a damn. It's the same when he is on the field but is the 3rd or 4th read. The last couple of weeks he's shown a lot promise though.
Wide receivers - Who in the draft?

Just curious who yall like in the draft. We’ve rehashed qb 1.2 million times.
Current top receiving targets.
Bowers
Mayer
Tucker
Bech
Thornton
Then the rest.
The one I like the best who will likely be gone in the first is Denzel Boston. If he slips to the top of 2 I would make a move for him. Hands catches. Returns punts which tells me he’s good at tracking the ball in the air. Also very good at high pointing in the end zone. Still working my way down the list though.
Who do you like?

We can find good players in rounds 1-4 to fills much bigger needs at: QB, OT, G, C, DE, DT, LB, S, and CB. So, if you are asking about low round WRs to draft, I have no ideas, but others might.

I don’t think we’ll draft a WR unless we trade down in either the 1st or 2nd. We definitely need a WR, but unfortunately we need to get a QB, fix the Oline and about every other position group.

WR is way down the line. Not saying we don't need one but we have bigger needs

I hope you’re not saying that’s my suggestion. I added assuming we take Mendoza.
