More Maxx crazy talk. /sSold My Soul wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 9:54 pm Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby addressed the move during the latest episode of the Let’s Go! podcast.
“I haven’t had time to really process it, to be honest,” Crosby told host Jim Gray. “I just found out. I’m here in the building and I literally see it pop up on the TV. So it was kind of gloomy, I would say. It’s something that I’ve been a part of before, but just to speak on Pete, this season didn’t go the way we expected it at all. From the players to the coaches, I don’t think anybody expected we would be in this position and getting the number one pick, to be honest.
“But I will say, you know, the one thing I did admire about Pete is he was, I mean, consistent as they come. He has won for such a long time. He is a Super Bowl champion. He won a national championship at USC. He has been an incredible coach, and he has had an incredible journey. So unfortunately this thing didn’t work out the way we expected it but he has done an incredible job and had an incredible career, and he was always awesome to me. Still gonna have that relationship regardless. Had a lot of coaches in my time to say the least, but all of those coaches, you take something from them, you learn something from them. And just we’re back to the process again and trying to figure out whatever that’s gonna be. I wish him the best. Like I said, he was always incredible to me and treated me amazing. Big shout out to Coach Pete and we’ll see what happens next.”
If great QBs were great evaluators of talent then fine, but there's no history of that. If I were Spytek I'd have Brady put together a list, send it over in an email and then delete it after writing, "Thanks Tom, this is really helpful. I'll get back to you soon."chucker wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 2:56 pm Are you sure it's "normal" for a GM to hire the coach entirely on his own without some kind of collaborative process? My guess is that it is not. Personally I have no problem at all with Brady's involvement, as long as he isn't forcing something that Spytek doesn't really like.
The details of that are interesting--assuming they're true. But they do add up with respect to what we saw on the field. Pete fired the ST coach and OC, but kept his son on. His personal issues were more important than the team. That's what such gross nepotism gets you.erickench wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 12:30 pm NEPOTISM is the reason why the offense flopped!!!!

Seattle gambled and won year 1
I wouldn’t have taken that gamble with the $$ they paid him.
Far as Smith, mo is, Carrol made the call to trade for him and it all backfired
It’s all in the past brother, let’s look to the future
And promoting his TB12 plant based food business while playing golf with Bryson Dechambeau.Opoponax50 wrote: Tue Jan 06, 2026 4:39 pm If great QBs were great evaluators of talent then fine, but there's no history of that. Brady's an investor in a can't-miss money maker. He may be in the building when his announcing gig isn't preventing it, but that means he's busy six months out of the year. Having serious responsibilities and obligations to an NFL team isn't a part time job.
