We absolutely sucked. That said, better teams than us sometimes absolutely suck one week. Kubiak has to make sure it doesnt happen again

Even good teams have stinkers, it happens. As fans we won’t know the dynamics contributing to their performance, all we can guess at is this a case of one step back after several steps forward or is it an omen of worse things to come. I know it will be difficult not to overreact but the Raiders will most likely lose the next several games, we all guessed that would happen when we saw the schedule. Despite yesterday’s crappy performance, I still have confidence that they are headed in the right direction.SkullCrusher wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 9:52 am The part is this simply didn't feel like the team the first 4 weeks and one from last year.
Why? That's Kubiak's job to figure out.
There is now way NE is that much better than KC.
We laid an egg... why?

I watched only a small bit of the game. Mindful of seasons past, where we were outclassed from the opening bell to the end. 20 years ago I would have watched every dreadful minute and let it ruin my day. Now I just say wait until next week, go for a walk, enjoy a gin & tonic and maybe play a little music.
Life's too short to waste on things that don't matt the long run.

Normally I would have "same ol' Raiders....." But this year, I have a different outlook. We should be mired in a the midst of a 4 game losing streak, but Kubiak won a pair early, that I penciled in as losses.rhumbob wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 10:44 am I watched only a small bit of the game. After the opening drive 3 and out, they said the 3 wins were over teams that are a combined 1-11....I was like ouch, might not be a good day for us today. I watched every dreadful minute, but this team is different, this GM is different, this coach is different, that rookie QB is different. I think we are at the ground level of something that might last multiple seasons.

I know he is only a one year guy (attempt to plug a hole), but he is HORRENDOUS.

Yes. This is why I am not down on Jeanty/Washinton. Granted Jeanty is hurting (props to him for trying to play through it), but how can anyone run behind our line. The numbers in regards to our RB's getting hit behind the line of scrimmage are STAGGERING. This is not on our RB's.BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 11:39 am I recall me and you screaming this from the rooftop in the offseason.

It was 14-7 Pats after the Raider fumble recovery in Pats territory mid to late 2nd quarter. Kubiak ran that end around to Tucker that lost yardage, then the Pats blitzed on 3rd down and Kirko missed Tucker breaking free toward the end zone, which would've tied the game. Then Gay missed the 49-yard FG, which along with Brock's fumble later, pretty much summed up a bad day at the office.Raidernation1979 wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 3:29 am This was a bad game. This same patriots team got beat 30-6 2 weeks ago. The rams have been beat 27-7.
This is year one of a complete overhaul with a rookie head coach and defensive coordinator.
Nobody thought we were gonna be undefeated. We looked like we never got off the bus on a trip all the way east in the early slot.
It sucked but shit happens.
That said, this wasn't like last year's beatdowns in Indy and KC, where there was no effort and the coaching was nonexistent. This was an up-and-coming team hitting a wall, going through some growing pains, and exposing some glaring needs if we're gonna compete with Super Bowl-caliber teams consistently.
We're gonna face these challenges again this season against teams like Buffalo, SF, the Rams and Seattle. And I think we can compete with some of them on the right day. But there's also a lot of lesser teams left on the schedule that look winnable on paper, including Denver, who I'm still not sold on. I think we split with them.
I don't like penciling in wins and losses before the games are played, but winning those first three games showed me the coaches and players have bought in. I actually think we're ahead of schedule. Winning 8-10 games is still realistic if we can steal one or two from the elite teams and take care of business against the teams we should beat.
At the very least, 6-8 wins is realistic. Meanwhile, get the rookies involved, figure out what's going on with the running game, the defense, and start identifying offseason needs. Run stuffing NT who (can also collapse the pocket), WR, and some interior O-line help outside of Linderbaum to begin with.
And last but not least, design some plays to get Mendoza more reps and meaningful playing time. The kid needs all the experience he can get so when we're finally ready to make a run, whenever that may be, he's ready too.

Hopefully within the next couple of years a Burford signing will be strictly for depth. Until then.....BoKnows81 wrote: Mon Oct 12, 2026 11:39 am I recall me and you screaming this from the rooftop in the offseason.

Pressure instantly. He did the right thing and threw at the pressure. No time for anything to develop

what the f[raiders_icon]cking insane hell is up with these stats. Lube gets 18 more snaps than washington???
What the hell did washington do? did he hit on kubiak's wife? tell the coaches to go f[raiders_icon]ck themselves? what the hell is the reason for this bullshit of not using the most explosive back the Raiders have right now???
