It’s that time of year for us to dog fight about who’s college team is better.
Best way to start it out IMO is with the preseason coaches poll that just dropped:
Preseason Coaches Poll
1.Ohio State
2.Oregon
3.Georgia
4.Texas
5.Notre Dame
6.Indiana
7.Miami
8.Texas A&M
9.Oklahoma
10.Ole Miss
11.Alabama
12.Texas Tech
13.LSU
14.USC
15.BYU
16.Michigan
17.Penn State
18.Tennessee
19.Washington
20.SMU
21.Utah
22.Iowa
23.Clemson
24.Houston
25.Missouri
We all know who are backing after that last few years but the 2026 season is almost upon us.
For my own part, this year is special I’m attending my first home game ever at ND on 9/12.

Read about some of the shady shit Al pulled when he was in the NCAA.

"He's a great Playaaa, get Ovaah it!!" The one idea he had wrong in that glorious press conference. May he rest in peace
That presser was a clown show. Al crapping on his coach in public which should have been done in private. Plus he was using an over head projector. Almost surprised he wasn't using cuneiform.
Pure asshattery.

Finally, first half ND was sloppy and playing too tight.
In the second half Willmark Jr nailed it “they realized they needed to stop playing with thier food.”
Lots to clean up but onto Rice, I’ll be there, first ever ND game in person with Mrs Willmark.

Guess not all the Wolverines were pleased with their "win" over WMU...
Text not showing in the above:
"Why would you possibly wait until the end of the season?
Fire him now. Ideally we would have fired him at halftime of the WMU game but that's not an option anymore and there's no point in crying over spilled milk. So right now is as good a time as any"

A 66 year old Whittingham isnt taking the Wolverines to the promised land but he at least should keep them out of the news besides their play

Kiffin was an asshole during his short sting with the Raiders...don't want him and his traveling shit show again.
He will forever be Lance to me. Courtesy of Al Davis.

Born and raised in Utah. Whittingham has been unable to recruit a QB worth a damn in a very long time. His defenses feast on bad/mediocre teams and fall apart against great offenses. He's incredibly stubborn and horrible with game/clock management.
All of which I've been okay with as a BYU fan. The Cougars have completely lapped Utah since joining a conference. Michigans best coach from all of that transition is Jay Hill. He was excellent for BYU

I have had a ton of friends attend BYU and been a fan of that program for a long time. Their tradition at the QB position is unrivaled.

I was watching the 49er/Rams game & loved seeing Puca Nacua and Fred Warner be such impact players. BYU really does find some gems. Taysom Hill was an absolute monster. They were very close to getting Jaxson Dart also. The current guy, Bachmeier is looking excellent so far. In Utah if you're from Salt Lake County area you're usually a Utes fan. If you're from Utah county, you're in Cougar territory. That BYU stadium is absolutely phenomenal game experience. The mountain is right there heading into the canyon & it's a beautiful site, even being from there and being used to it. It gets so loud and rowdy, all with sober fans. It's pretty special. I'm glad you see the coolness of the program! It has lots of haters & catches lots of stray shots unfortunately

I was in High School when Ty Detmer went on his Heisman run. There has been a lot of talent go through that program with players and coaches.
One of the best college games I ever saw was when WSU traveled to Provo in 1989. Detmer and Brad Gossen combined for nearly 1,000 yards passing. Both programs had similar offensive philosophies so it was a shoot out.
