Free agency opens March 11. CBS Sports has their top 50 ranking. No Raiders on the list. I am surprised at a couple rated high - Aaron Rodgers and Daniel Jones. Lots of wide receivers

Mike Silver is doing a write up on our buddy Eric DeCosta. The Ravens had a deal for their 14th pick. Another team was offering a 1st in the teens and a fourth this year and next year....the other team called back and changed their mind....Tampa was picking 15th.

Between free agency and the draft we are going to have a ton of competition in our defense positions and especially our LB/secondary positions. Our entire Defense is almost revamped now. It will be interesting to see if Rob Leonard is any good because on paper our players are looking pretty solid on defense now. I dont even want to get excited about it yet but it looks like we are finally taking our defense players talent serious.

The #Raiders currently have 26.6 mil in cap room after the Tyree trade.
The draft pool is 21.5 mil but because of the cut off at top 51 we will need about 17.5 vs the cap.
Leaves about 9.1 in cap room.

If I could bet right now I'd say this guy will be the Raiders #3 QB by season start. Decent to good arm and is fast.

"We're in the team building, not just talent acquisition" or something to that effect. Great words, I feel that so many GMs/teams are actually in the talent acquisition business and it's not the way to do it. He knows that WR is a position that can wait, if it has to, and take a back seat to others that are much harder to staff.

If that's accurate that leaves basically enough money for one more FA.

I would try to trade for Arik Armstead. Jags have very little space after they pay their rookie class and he might be expendable. He is older but plays a position that you can play longer at.

yep, we could rework maxs or koltons deal to free up a lot more space if needed
