Oakland really is a cesspool though I give you that.Xramfan wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:46 am I can take pictures of a few homes in Oakland and convince someone that it is Beverly Hills. However the majority of Oakland is a cesspool and it has rightfully earned that reputation.
I’m not disagreeing with your Baltimore take as I have never been there.
Geographically it could be stunning as the weather is near perfect year round never too hot and never too cold, views of the bay and SF………except for the drugs, homelessness, crime and garbage it’s perfect.
Allen this year especially really missed a huge opportunity, but I've seen him produce its just that Mahomes performance was that much better. Jackson frustrated me there are games he should have won but couldn't put it together.NoClapsPlease wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:41 am Kinda like the guy that plays for the bills but somehow gets a pass.
Born and raised in Oakland growing up thinking bars on your windows was normal. It’s about as dangerous a city as you’ll ever come across.Xramfan wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:46 am I can take pictures of a few homes in Oakland and convince someone that it is Beverly Hills. Back in the day when I was in the police academy OPD was paying crazy signing bonuses to get cadets to be Officers there.Viper wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 5:47 pm Born and raised in Oakland growing up thinking bars on your windows was normal. It’s about as dangerous a city as you’ll ever come across.
I could totally see Norm McDonald saying thisNoClapsPlease wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:34 am Baltimore is a great city. Very nice affluent areas in Baltimore county
Guys see a couple abandoned homes and are ready to write off an entire city. Ridiculous.
And the rich are going to live in the Beverly Hills of Oakland, like they would in the Beverly Hills of Baltimore, like one doesn't have to drive far outside of Beverly Hills to be deep in the shit as well.Xramfan wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 8:46 am I can take pictures of a few homes in Oakland and convince someone that it is Beverly Hills. I lived while renovating a rental on the corner of East 12th and 40th Ave. I liked to call that ghetto ivy on the windows lolViper wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 5:47 pm Born and raised in Oakland growing up thinking bars on your windows was normal. I had the same thought; fresh start for leadership and the culture of the team.Attyla wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 6:35 am Been giving the trade some thought, first off, we got more than I thought we would. I thought the Rams were an option but any picks we would have gotten would have been distant and low. So good for us to get what we got.
Second, I thought about age. We seem to be trending toward getting younger at key positions. So moving an older player made sense.
But I think one of the biggest parts of this was leadership. By moving Maxx, who was an outspoken leader of the team, we created a leadership hole. That hole will be filled by Mendoza. It gives him a real chance to make the team his. I watched and read the words he uses. He pushes any praise to his teammates on a regular basis. Maxx rarely did that. I think they looked at the style of leadership and I think they wanted the face of the franchise to be a guy who could lift the team. Mendoza's leadership style is very humble. I like that.
No, I'm saying its a fresh start for a new leaderCruisin with Tooz wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 12:36 pm So now you guys are admitting culture was part of the problem and was at least part of the driving force?
