It was pretty funny how that piece of crap couldn't even hack it in the USFL! Talk about an all-time miss. Even @coldblooded, the coward who fled chat, backed guys who, at least, started in the NFL! I backed a proven starter. You wanted to spend a first round pick on Strong. Amusing stuff.Willmark wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:39 pm I’d figured you eventually try that.
So I suggested we take a chance on a kid with what turned out to be a truly messed up knee. And? There have been others that would have been good. I wanted Herbert and so far Dart looks to be a good.
Still better than backing Carr for years after everyone saw he wasn’t the answer. Perhaps even still doing after he retired.
His name is Pimples, by the way. I liked Dart, though concerns about Lance's college offense offered credible concerns. If you stayed in chat, you would have known that.
Hopefully, that ND QB pans out. Give him #4 and I can repurpose my Carr jersey!

I accept your concession on 2020.Willmark wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:42 pm It was 2016, not 2015. In 2016 he was great.
The team, Josh Jacobs, the Defense the last 5-6 games, and Carlson kicking something like 5 last minute FGs, plus Covid decimating teams in turn right before we played them got us in the playoff the other year not Carr.
32 TDs in 2015.
That 26th ranked defense? LOL. I do remember how they blew a 15-point lead against Pimples in the regular season finale because one fourth down stop was too much.
Jacobs showed up. As he should have after a down 2020. Good for him.
Carr put Carlson in position for those field goals. Using your logic, Adam V deserves more credit for two Super Bowl rings.
And the 2021 team lost its emerging deep threat and offensive play caller. That equals any COVID crap. Amazing how many "fans" are so eager to downgrade what the 2021 team overcame to make the playoffs. They got off the mat after two gut punches and didn't give up.

As to the first you seem to have this weird fixation on one thing I said. My contention is picking early and often and picking a qb late until we hit. He’s one in a slew of QBs.The Real CK wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:44 pm It was pretty funny how that piece of crap couldn't even hack it in the USFL! Talk about an all-time miss. I searched and found about 3 posts on Strong and a desire to take a shot at him. Not sure what your point is. He slipped so far because it turned out the he had a really bad knee he messed up was an issue since HS. Kudos to the scouts for knowing that.
As far as chat? I assume you mean discord? I’m not a fan of the medium though I can see why some like it.
As to the last so far CJ looks to be legit. After only 5 starts he’s playing well. Here’s hoping he continues and if he continues to play like he is at ND he’s got a shot at the NFL.

Strong was such a huge miss that it questions anyone's credibility on starting NFL QBs. It was obvious in college before the knee issue that he was strictly a college guy. No shame in that ceiling.Willmark wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:52 pm As to the first you seem to have this weird fixation on one thing I said. Yes, Discord. Lots of fun times in there and you would be a fine addition (as much as I like to rag you). I am more old school message board myself (which are sadly dying) but most of the best posters here migrated to Discord and so I adapted.
As an Army fan, I am not supposed to like Notre Dame (ancient rivals and all that), but they play the best schedules (actual diversity, instead of nine conference games and three cupcakes), and my dad grew up rooting for them (Catholic family). They don't need to join a conference. CFB was better when independence was a common feature.

Easy enough to turn around: after 2018 continuing to support Carr as a starter is huge miss that it questions anyone's credibility on starting NFL QBs.The Real CK wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 1:03 pm Strong was such a huge miss that it questions anyone's credibility on starting NFL QBs. See how that works?
I pop in various Discords on occasion, perhaps I'll make a concerted effort on the Raiders one. I did have some username issues with Discord. It was never a priority to fix, but I did a while back. The Real CK wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 1:03 pm Yes, Discord. Army is either second or third for me in terms of College teams. I root for them every time in the Army-Navy Game. The other is Wyoming. Its where were headed to in about 3-4 years. The Real CK wrote: Wed Oct 08, 2025 1:03 pm As an Army fan, I am not supposed to like Notre Dame (ancient rivals and all that), but they play the best schedules (actual diversity, instead of nine conference games and three cupcakes), and my dad grew up rooting for them (Catholic family). As far as Conferences agreed. There is nothing to gain and I think the idea of people chanting SEC (by way of example) is beyond bizarre.

Since some of you guys are obsessed with the former qb. Here is what he is up do these days.
I personally believe he will make a comeback in the future as he has hinted.
