Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.
#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.
#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.
Sounds like solid gets
Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there
Who else you like ?

Eichenberg and Chanel as our starting LBs might work.
Works for me...if we're in a "rebuild" and I assume we are, I'd rather look long term with youth as oppose to older guys/vets/FAs. I mean realistically, we're not going to be a serious contender this year anyway , so IMO, we shouldn't waste valuable cap money on middle aged FAs in their prime now, but likely won't be 3 years from now.

We've sucked at safety it feels like forever. Chinn and Pala Mao can both go.
Chinn should be used as the 3rd safety in nickle base sets like how Seahawks, Ravens and Chargers play

Not a lot of coverage ability in that. Chanel is great playing downhill, but his coverage ability doesn’t make up for the lack of athleticism that Eichenberg offers. He should be depth and that’s okay.
Some really good undersized LBs in this years draft, Kyle Louis, Jacob Rodriguez and Taurean York. If we can get a really affective nose to keep the lbs free they could be a steal.
I really like Jake Golday too, needs some work but he’s big, athletic and physical. Projected round 2 pick but we could probably get him with a trade down

Did we really draft the wrong guy?

Yes and no. We knew who we were drafting. But we should have went after the other guy.

What’s wrong with Chinn? What we need is a new FS like Bryant from SEA, then Pala Mao can backup Chinn at SS.
I was thinking the same thing. He’s young and versatile and wasn’t utilized correctly. He’s not the fastest but has enough speed. He misses his share of tackles I’ll admit, but can be fixed with proper coaching.
He reminds me of Kam Chancellor the way he moves and hits. Would love to see him on a properly coached defense and scheme. He could be a vital part of our defense.

Chinn is one of the few decent holdovers on defense. He's not amazing, but he can be a solid starter and we just don't have many of those on defense.

Strong safeties are a dime a dozen. The rules have legislated the position out of the game, the days of Jack Tatum, Ronnie Lott, hell even Polamalu are over. It's quickly becoming the Fullback of defense that is replaced with a player of another skillset. Depending on the down, a line backer or a corner. Chinn is fine as a pseudo linebacker, but we could probably use several guys labelled as a "Free safety" or nickel corner because our ability to cover the middle of the field is severely lacking.

Yep. Chinn plays an outdated position and is average at best with all the missed tackles. Would be no loss and is 100% upgradeable.

Yea for some time he was that "hybrid" dude that teams thought would fill both roles, but those guys are increasingly rare. To the point that I think we need more "coverage DB's" than any other role on the roster. Simply don't have enough bodies who can cover for 17 games, and it's been that way for a long time.

Let's hope there isn't some random O-lineman named "Fernando Mendoza" that's a 7th/UDFA projection that we somehow draft on accident.

Too bad for the Raiders there wasn't some random QB named "Derek Carr" that was 7th/UDFA projection that we somehow drafted by accident in 2014.

Loving hearing the talking heads talk about how next years QB class is so much better and deeper at QB. We should rewind the tape and show them the exact same conversations as last year. You just don't know with QB's. If Nussmeier came out last year he probably goes in late first early second, now he is a day three pick. Sellers was supposed to coming out this season and be top five, now he is waiting another year. Remember #1 pick Spncer Rattler? Sam Howell in the top ten. The kid who's name Icant remember from Penn State.

Well this years class is weak after Mendoza. We are very fortunate to be picking first and not second.

Yea hopefully the "never root for a loss" crowd realizes how important that loss was to the Giants. I'm glad most of them eventually came to their senses.
