all the other teams with centers available are now locking em all up and paying PREMIUM prices, lindenbaum is the top guy then it falls off a cliff leaving us will rookie center or jp whom i have no confidence can play center in teh nfl at a high levelDr Death wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:15 am Who is available that you would consider over Linderbaum? I don't know much about any FA's to be honest. I just know what I read from other sites and YouTube.

Rabidraider wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:49 am 26 pressures over 17 games is 1.52 per game on average. Where does that land vs our centers last year and the rest of the league? Mendoza has a quick release, I would expect that number could go down.
People are throwing out 7 million over, but I think it will be more like 2-3 million.
2025 Regular Season Highlights (PFF Grades):WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:32 am Tyler Linderbaum's struggles in pass protection, particularly noted in 2024 and 2025, have primarily been attributed to his physical limitations against power-rushers, leading to a disparity between his elite run-blocking ability and his average-to-below-average pass-blocking grades. While considered a top center overall, his pass-blocking has faced scrutiny, with 26 pressures allowed in 2025."
...no one wants us to 'fk around with the o line', but with the above statistical realities , and the suggested need to have to commit a projected 7 million more a year for him than the next highest paid at that position, and to apparently still not feel so comfortable after the fact, or to still have to have near top guards on either side to compensate for his physical limitations, I hope they take a long look elsewhere.
yeah, we managed the cap for yrs and our oline stunk and team stunk ...managing the cap doesn't mean being a penny pincher, if there is a guy that helps improve a weakness you go get himWNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:54 am .....regardless of what side of this discussion that anyone is on, I think everyone should agree that 'who cares' when it comes to managing the cap now, and later, is stupid.
It's nice to be able to figure things out, but I have to agree that we really don't know what Kubiak is thinking. We know he values a really smart center - we don't know if he's looking at Linderbaum as that guy, another FA center, or some random guard who's never even played the position. The next few days could shed a lot of light on it.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:57 am ...whatever happens, I trust in our new head coach, who, for all any of us know, isn't even looking at linderbaum, or on the flip side, he may be his number one target. ...we shall see very soon...
tyler was flanked by piss poor guards to the right and left of him, im sure that affected his playRabidraider wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:49 am 26 pressures over 17 games is 1.52 per game on average. I dont get my feelings hurt on here bud. All good. Lindy will fare much better here without that overrated RB/QB Lamar Jackson running all over the place.WNYRAIDER wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:43 am ...i'm sorry if I hurt your feelings with the reality of what I shared, but with our new hc's recent past in Seattle, it seems like he might just be the guy who can come up with a better plan than to grossly overspending for a name whose last few years of stats do not seem to match up to the impressions of some of local experts, and for what might be in the best interests of our new rookie face of the franchise.
Agreed and don't get me wrong, I'd definitely give him the bag to anchor the line. Im just saying he's not the dominant center that some may think he is. He has concerning flaw is all Im sayingBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:19 am To be fair, Baltimore may not let him walk at all. I get the concerns but im sorry, there's not a center currently available that I would feel more comfortable with in front of our QB right now then Linderbaum. To me, he's worth the money IF hes available. Can we draft one? Sure. Im just saying they cant f[raiders_icon]ck around with the O line. Address it.
He's the best center on the market. He's going to get paid and it's probably going to be elite money. He's not an elite center imo and has problems in pass pro and always has. That's all Im saying. I myself would've went after McGovern if the price for Linderbaum was too high. Obviously that's not an option anymoreDr Death wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 8:15 am Who is available that you would consider over Linderbaum? I don't know much about any FA's to be honest. That's a reasonable take. Linderbaum absolutely has weaknesses. I've mentioned it before that he'll catch grief on this site when he gets overpowered at times. On balance he's still a huge improvement at a huge need.Hellbound wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 9:06 am Agreed and don't get me wrong, I'd definitely give him the bag to anchor the line.
