I wasn't a member of this forum then so I am really not familiar with any of this or the underlying insider narrative.raiderboyron wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 2:55 pm It was a thing. We went over it a lot on here. I don't really want to bring up the name of the person who I think was responsible for bringing it to our attention tho.
Well, that was some time ago, in a galaxy far far away, but yea, that was one of the strangest blips we witnessed.Willmark wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:36 pm Yep. That had to be one of the weirdest episodes in the long tragicomic misery that is the various Raider forums we've been arguing on.
Hell, I think I may have joined the old site in 2006 and that made me late to the party. I know I was there in 2008 when we began the "purple drink" experiment.
No and neither is the guy championing that it did not happen. But why would someone make it up? For attention? Hell, that is too random even for Random to have made up. I wonder every so often where Random went. Oh wait, Pryor retired. That explains that.Reno Hightower wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:40 pm I wasn't a member of this forum then so I am really not familiar with any of this or the underlying insider narrative.
Long story short a person joined the site and was known for two things.Reno Hightower wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:40 pm I wasn't a member of this forum then so I am really not familiar with any of this or the underlying insider narrative.
no, nobody said every day, just a lot of days. And now people are coming forward confirming that they saw the stuff. So yearaidersince63 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:46 pm OK, so people on here supposedly think he played "9 hours of video every day during the off season" but no trace of it on the internet?...gotcha.
if memory serves, it was 1100 bucks in one league and a bit less in the other.Willmark wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:49 pm Long story short a person joined the site and was known for two things.
1. Posting tons of videos from various social media sites of Carr playing video games.
2. At the high level: starting up a Fantasy Football league here and it was leaked that he had actually "died" through intermediates. Then proceeded to abscond with the league fees.
Now I know times are tough on the street and all, but pocketing maybe $200-300?
Well that certainly changes the narrative.Attyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:53 pm if memory serves, it was 1100 bucks in one league and a bit less in the other.
People blew it way, way out of proportion, as if a person should have zero time for themselves and their family. Before I retired from my line of work the only thing I could do to take my mind off was to play Elden Ring because it made me not think of work.raidersince63 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:46 pm OK, so people on here supposedly think he played "9 hours of video every day during the off season" but no trace of it on the internet?...gotcha.
When I was on the Pro Sports Daily forum there was a lot of scorn when Carr did the silly rap video advertisement for a local credit union. It was around that same time the Carr's lack of toughness on the field was becoming evident.Attyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:44 pm No and neither is the guy championing that it did not happen. But Carr also "invented" pool basketball. I remember the jokes that if football did not work out he could start a league.
It was a tough time for all.raidersince63 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 4:48 pm So in summation, the ONLY place that supposed evidence can be found of Carr "playing videos 9 hours a day during off season" (it can't) was on this message board?![]()
The Carr hatred knows no bounds.
No, you didn't say "a lot of days"...your exact words were "9 or more hours a day".Attyla wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 3:52 pm no, nobody said every day, just a lot of days. And now people are coming forward confirming that they saw the stuff. So yea
Gotcha lol
Darren, is that you? ;)raidersince63 wrote: Sat Sep 05, 2026 5:23 pm No, you didn't say "a lot of days"...your exact words were "9 or more hours a day".
Here you go;
"They had to dummy down the playbook for the guy. It is well documented that a guy who was paid 20M a year spent 9 or more hours a day playing a fcking video game. Hell he posted youtube videos of him doing so until someone outed him for not bothering learn his job in the offseason. Once your season is over, that does not mean you don't work. He did not."
...remember now?
I'm not saying Carr was not a disappointment because he was. I'm just saying your claim about him is not true. You could have easily ended this by saying that you simply misspoke, but instead. you kept doubling down.
