He's an acceptable backup, so for future purposes/in the event the starter goes down, we can bring in a guy with at least some experience. I don't want to sound like an O'Connell booster, but every team needs a relatively competent backup QB and he fits that role.

I hear ya. Unfortunately I do not gree. But its all good. I just don't think O'Connell is even worth a roster spot.

Agreed. I would just rather see our own draft pick play over Pickett. I don't want either to play next year.
