The dline just got a hell of a lot better.LayneStaley wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:28 pm If Maxx did stay this has to be the most talented D we have had in 20 years.
I doubt the guys in the front office are going to be happy to see Maxx back again. If he does come back its going to be extremely awkward for all parties involved. We were all celebrating a couple days ago, and I'm sure Spytek and Brady were giving each other high fives for a great trade. Its just a really weird situation all around. The only good thing is Kubiak is new so he can play dumb about the whole situation.Dokie85 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:49 pm Am I crazy to think maybe this could be a blessing? Sure, it stinks to lose the value of two extra first round picks, but we and many other teams have a history of swinging and missing on picks. Crosby is a known great player, even if he's a bit overrated by our fan base. From what I've read, we have the cap space to keep Crosby in the fold. He'll play hard no matter what. Sure, we have other glaring needs, but maybe this will make for great make up sex between Crosby and the Raiders?
Don’t get me wrong - I’m fully in agreement with you. I think it’s utterly bullshit. There is an easy fix which is just have an independent medical team do the physical to determine if it’s bad enough to void your deal.16 to 88 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:14 pm Thing is, this is now twice they have pulled this stunt. League should get involved and penalize them. If they don't they will just do it again. Which, is what just transpired...
We just don't know how strained it was between the parties, if it is salvageable and there's no close offers elsewhere, you be men, you be professionals and you go out there and compete. Sometimes the no deal is the best deal.rich72 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:30 pm I doubt the guys in the front office are going to be happy to see Maxx back again. Oh yeah, I hear ya. Maybe if you are the Raiders maybe in the next few years tell them no hard feelings, trade of a player of there's and then pull the rug out from underneath them. Maybe that will wake up the league?raiders93 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:33 pm Don’t get me wrong - I’m fully in agreement with you. I think it’s utterly bullshit. I’m sure the arguement the NFL would make it that this could become a nightmare of red tape as you’d probably need to create some sort of dispute process if team doctors disagree… how long is it going to take for trades to actually go through as a result, etc…
If it comes down to him playing for us this season then just be the bigger men and welcome him back with open arms. Do what you need to do to in order to have peace.SkullCrusher wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:35 pm We just don't know how strained it was between the parties, if it is salvageable and there's no close offers elsewhere, you be men, you be professionals and you go out there and compete. I never understood why the Bengals weren't interested to begin with. They need someone like Maxx. With their #10 overall I personally wouldnt require another 1st. A 2nd would be fine by me.16 to 88 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:33 pm What would be epic is trading him to the bengals seeing they lost Hendrickson, for there 1st this year ( four spots in front of them) and a first next and then him terrorizing Lamar for the two games they play...
Lot easier to mandate the physical before the deal could be announced or before negotiations can even start.raiders93 wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:33 pm Don’t get me wrong - I’m fully in agreement with you. What you have to do is tantalize a team like the Seahawks or the 49ers and the teams in those very competitive divisions won't want to have him terrorizing there QB's...LayneStaley wrote: Tue Mar 10, 2026 8:27 pm Spytek seems like a stick to your guns kinda guy. No one will pay 2 1s right now but come the deadline someone a piece away might.
