There will be more moves this week. I'd prefer that the staff has some players already on the roster in whom they see potential, than the Dolphins' approach of taking other teams' castoffs to replace 15% of their roster. Many of us are sick of hearing about Thornton's struggles to play or even suit up, but a lot of fans would be pumped to see us grab a WR with his measureables off the waiver wire.

id be happy grabbing a wr that can run routes and catch the damn ball over a measurables guy (freakish) ...the raiders biggest need is at wr we currently have a bunch of wr3's

Zach Harrison from the Falcons is an interior DL that I think we should claim. 4.5 sacks in 7 games last season.

We've seen way too many physical freaks over the years and decades that run fast. Look huge but can't play football worth a damn.

Doesn't mean we should stop looking for players that fall from the cracks and might have something to offer.

We've seen it all.
We seen the "measurable" guys fail and hit big.
We've seen the the "football player" fail and hit big.
Tall, fast, small, big, short, strong all fail and hit, but more fail than hit.

It seems it's a combo of talent, brains, heart, fit, luck.
Probably our #1 issue is fit because we keep turning everything over.
The environment hasn't been set for many to succeed in, we are eternally optimistic that the next staff will be the one.

IMO it's hard to say we shouldn't take the physical freak because it failed in the past.
It all has failed more than succeeded and that's all teams.
That's why there are charts, db's, #'s out the yang trying to figure this out and you have one pick every 32.

I still feel like stopping the run and catching the ball are gonna be issues. Really hope next year those are the areas we attack in the draft.

Tom Brady did noting special his first preseason, I'm not writing this though about that so much.
He was 4th string and they kept 4 QB's that year, he could have been cut right then and then never happened.
He showed steady improvement in-house and they decided to keep him.

Fatukasi has shown some game. That was a good pickup. Maxx Crosby on one edge helps a lot. His run defense is invaluable, truly the very best in the league from the edge in that regard. Kwity Paye on the other edge is also an upgrade from the last few seasons. He can play the run. Maxx blows up so many plays even from the back side that not having him out there doesn't allow the picture to form.

I would have liked another NT pickup to go with Fatukasi. But, perhaps Pegues can step up. Booker and Laulu can punch gaps if nothing else. Hemingway is said to have a great camp but I'll wait and see actual results before I have confidence there

exactly...freaks almost never ever work out too ...id much rather just grab a guy that can run routes and catch the damn ball like meyers whom we did not bring back (solid wr2 type)

if im the raiders im scouring every league to find a decent wr that can catch...so tired of watching our starters dropping perfect passes on perfectly designed plays leaving em wide open, only to watch teh pass clanking off of their hands
