I am not arguing that Max is better long term because of his age. I think the Ravens are better served getting the consolation prize (not a huge difference between the 2) for the same money while keeping their picks. Their picks are worth a ton and I was surprised they were willing to make that move in the first place.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:58 am Hendrickson played 7 games last year, is older, and despite being a better pass rusher is a worse overall player than Maxx. I think any time you make a trade for a big name player, that player's value is relative to your ability to compete. Ravens had a rough tampering period so now taking a stop gap like Hendrickson makes sense yes, but only because they are a substantially worse team than they were a week ago.
I don’t think it’s a given they he’s a better pass rusher even. He had the one monster year but besides that he’s no better.NoThanksSir wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:58 am Hendrickson played 7 games last year, is older, and despite being a better pass rusher is a worse overall player than Maxx. Agree completely. We outmaneuvered them and they broke their word when they realized it.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:04 am I am not arguing that Max is better long term because of his age. I don't think the move was without logic a week ago, they wanted to go all in on the last few good years of Lamar Jackson. Say they retain Linderbaum and Dre'mont Jones, acquire Maxx, and maybe have better luck attracting a FA or two. I think if things went according to plan for the Ravens, those picks would matter far less to them. The 14th for a player of Maxx's caliber is a steal, and next year's first would have been in the mid to late 20's. They f[raiders_icon]cked up free agency so yea now they need those firsts. Hendrickson to me, seems like nothing more than something to placate fans after taking their toy away. He's not moving the needle on that roster.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:04 am I am not arguing that Max is better long term because of his age. I think Maxx will be great if he stays. He might have preferred to move to a team that's more likely to be competitive, but retaining him for a while longer was always going to be an option. It's not the Raiders who f[raiders_icon]cked this up and f[raiders_icon]cked up Maxx' plan, it's the Ravens.DanKD wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:05 am It will be interesting where Maxx head is at. He just had the team trading for him tell him they didnt want him. Maxx may be angry / humbled and have a new found appreciation for the Raiders. Or he may still want out. I dont know
Either way i have no doubt he wants to prove the Ravens wrong.
I was happy with the trade but the Maxx hate is ridiculous. This is one the ravens 100%
...Mrs Maxx seemed truly sad and as though she didn't want to go, for what that is worth. ....and I think that everything is better when you win, and the pieces sure seem to be increasingly in place to make it look like this team is vastly improved even before the draft, and I still believe that we have had more on our team that what showed last year, and including recent draft picks over the last few years.Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:03 am Dunno, I just think we are going to deal him and I may be wrong and if so, I freely admit it. I like Maxx, but I also don't want a guy who does not want to be here. I freely admit I don't know if the trade was his idea or not, but either way, there has been damage to the relationship. Can it be repaired, sure. But that will require a lot of conversation I believe.
...and hopefully he wasn't too hasty in altering those tattoos....Attyla wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:09 am I wonder if Maxx kept the receipts for the Ravens gear he bought?
The happy wife happy life does matter. But ultimately it is business and that sometimes means change. Hey, he would be great with the changes, he would thrive in a 3-4 base set and we added pieces that increase our ability to defend the field.WNYRAIDER wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:14 am ...Mrs Maxx seemed truly sad and as though she didn't want to go, for what that is worth. ....and I think that everything is better when you win, and the pieces sure seem to be increasingly in place to make it look like this team is vastly improved even before the draft, and I still believe that we have had more on our team that what showed last year, and including recent draft picks over the last few years.
Maybe this is a passing of the baton down to the NFL's next dumpster fire. I agree, upward and onward-The Raiders are on the rise.Viper wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:00 am The stink the Ravens have put on themselves is going to last a long time on this one.
No looking back, time for us to move forward with a revised plan and focus on making us better.
