Proctor and Linderbaum with Powers Johnson on the other side (provided he stays healthy) would be a great upgrade. I love Ioane if he is there but my gut says he might go to Miami who is also going to be in huge rebuild mode.
No. This team needs to stop f[raiders_icon]cking around with JPJ and just play him at his natural position already.Oaktownonly wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 9:57 am If we can't land Linderbaum, do we draft a center? Jake Slaughter maybe. If he can't start at center right away maybe move him to guard with JPJ at center. Assuming we can get Ioane at 14.
I'm starting to doubt Ioane being there at 14 as well.Attyla wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:25 am Proctor and Linderbaum with Powers Johnson on the other side (provided he stays healthy) would be a great upgrade. The problem with picking high is that you are competing with teams that are rebuilds. Rebuilds love linemen as base upgrades. Picks 2-9 are probably not going to take Ioane, but Cinci, Miami and Atlanta are ideal spots to take him. If he makes it to us, he will not be there at 15 is my guess.raider_kin wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:27 am I'm stating to doubt Ioane being there at 14 as well.
AGGGHHHH now we have to wait until late April to find that out
Man, to me you don't necessarily have to cross him off of the list but he definitely needs to be ranked a bit lower if he's not a scheme fit. I mean what's the point of drafting someone if they're not a fit while others are? Maybe he can adapt, maybe he doesn't. I myself am going to draft the guy I know fits my scheme, especially in the top half of the first and a team that needs their picks to work outBoKnows81 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:05 am Definitely not an ideal fit in a ZBS and yes, it gives me some pause. But, to me, he's the best O lineman in the draft.
His natural position could be at OG alot of runours out there that JPJ wasn't calling protections when at C & that is a huge no noRaiderman4 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:27 am No. This team needs to stop f[raiders_icon]cking around with JPJ and just play him at his natural position already.

...the problem with that is that so many are suggesting a real earlier to mid draft 'sweet spot ', and we have plenty of holes to fill, and not just as starters....Be_Easy_25 wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:38 am I’d much rather trade up than trade down, and I’m not against either theoretically.
Nonetheless, I’d much rather try to fill up our talent cup by trading up, than try to round out our roster by trading down.
Sonny Styles is a game changer—a franchise player. Even if he won’t be a career Raider, he’s likely to yield draft capital in a few years if we need to trade him.
I’m adding him to this roster 10/10 before I trade back to get an extra second to draft some slot corner from random B1G/SEC university.
Id be happy with some smokechucker wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 9:30 am We really need some f[raiders_icon]cking news soon. We haven't had a major transaction since Friday.
You're a mean one

Just because a guy was playing somewhere, that doesn't make it his best position. It may have been the position where he was needed the most in college - where the demands of the position are also different than in the NFL. I love that JPJ has the stones that he demanded to play center as a rookie when Andre James was out, but that doesn't mean that it's actually the best fit for him. I've heard Lincoln Kennedy and Incognito comment that he should be playing guard and has potential to be a top guard.
I agree that his move to guard was correct. His coaching tanked him and he needs to protect his melon but he is a guard.chucker wrote: Sun Mar 08, 2026 10:49 am I know JPJ played center in college, but the way he fires off the ball and the power he plays with just screams to me that his natural position is guard.
