He would be helping his employer potentially land a valued player. As far as any legal ramifications/sanctionable acts, he would have plausible deniability; he can rely on and hide behind his professional opinion. The athletes would continue to use him as long as he remains a good surgeon, that's what the players care about, not how he performs un his side hustle. Finally, his god complex would make him impervious to criticism and attacks on his reputation.Cruisin with Tooz wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 7:45 pm What would he get out of doing that? The loss of his professional reputation? The loss of athletes using him as their doctor? An investigation and possible sanctions by the TX State Board of Medical Examiners? Potentially a lawsuit by Crosby. Potentially a tortious interference lawsuit by the Raiders?
What Karma could have looked like:
Roger Saffold, and Reggie was going to way overpay for him.Xramfan wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:39 pm Who was the lineman that the Raiders signed awhile back but then he “failed” his physical and the signing was null and voided? Raider fans everywhere gave Mark Davis praise for creating the “buyers remorse” failed physical excuse.

Like everyone has said it was Saffold, but for a quarter of the price that off-season the raiders signed Donald Penn.Xramfan wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 10:39 pm Who was the lineman that the Raiders signed awhile back but then he “failed” his physical and the signing was null and voided? He will if the coach says he will.NewEraX25 wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 4:51 pm![]()
Cause he wanted out and he puts his ego above staying healthy. He needs to play like 20% less snaps but he never will.
Dr Daniel Cooper, who is the Cowboys team doctor and is a world renowned knee specialist was the doctor who did his physical. While he found that the surgical procedure was progressing, he was not cleared and as a result, Baltimore passed on Crosby. When you have a specialist of his level of expertise doing the evaluation, it is pretty much a done deal. And you have to understand, these are medical opinions so somewhat subjective. What happened in Baltimore was so rare they would not have had a backup evaluator available.Raider_Dave wrote: Wed Mar 11, 2026 6:10 pm We wont get any info, but it would seem like the league could have an independent Dr review the information.
There was no way Maxx was passing a physical 8 weeks out from surgery, doesn’t matter who the doctor is. Every team knew this going into FA. As you stated, our defense is improved, especially if we retain him.Attyla wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 3:16 am Dr Daniel Cooper, who is the Cowboys team doctor and is a world renowned knee specialist was the doctor who did his physical. All that to say, is it shady? One can make the case very easily. Did Baltimore stack the deck? Almost certainly. Did we get screwed? That would be an opinion, but I would say our defense as it stands now is significantly improved.
