Again, he’s 5th in sacks and 2nd in QB hits and first in pressures (may have the last two reversed) since 2019. To me it’s pretty hard to say that isn’t elite.Raidernation1979 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 9:04 am Maxx is an elite player. Not an elite pash rusher. He stops the run as well as anybody and is a top tier pass rusher. Very few players do both at the level he does
I think it's safe to say there's some better sack artists than Maxx. In my mind at least 5. However, Maxx is very consistently just a pain in the ass for any offense. He consistently f[raiders_icon]cks over their ground game and he pretty consistently can get a pass rush going. Especially when healthy. I've seen multiple times Joe Alt stone wall Maxx all game long. All in all Maxx has proven to be elite. In my opinion, he's going to benefit from a 34/33 front as a stand up/move around guy. He's a better pass rusher when he can attack from different areasJeevo wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 12:05 pm Again, he’s 5th in sacks and 2nd in QB hits and first in pressures (may have the last two reversed) since 2019. I think being top 5 in those categories coupled with his run stuffing skills would make him elite. And the argument that he does it with a ton more snaps to me is really not valid.Jeevo wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 12:05 pm Again, he’s 5th in sacks and 2nd in QB hits and first in pressures (may have the last two reversed) since 2019. Tim Brown says hello. He was one of my fav Raiders ever, and also was perhaps one of the classiest Raider ever.Raiderman4 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 11:18 am Let the best raider of the past 30 seasons retire as a raider
Sacks aside, I don't know how many times I've seen Maxx completely blow up a running play or a screen.Attyla wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:05 pm I think being top 5 in those categories coupled with his run stuffing skills would make him elite. Unfortunately, often times people have already developed an opinion about a player and in order to justify their position, they scurry off and start googling for anything they can cherry pick to bolster their stance.
This is the wrong way to form an opinion, and instead, they should first do their homework and then and only then, develop an accurate and educated opinion.
Hand guns as well as stats, in the wrong hands can be for lack of a better word, "dangerous".
For sure Brown, Woodsen is another.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:09 pm Tim Brown says hello. He was one of my fav Raiders ever, and also was perhaps one of the classiest Raider ever.
I might add that observationally speaking, I have seen that happen. And it is equally unfortunate when someone has made a determination that a player has committed an unforgivable crime, no matter how much data is pressed their way, they will dismiss it.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:22 pm Sacks aside, I don't know how many times I've seen Maxx completely blow up a running play or a screen.
