What kind of penalties would Tim Brown complain about...if you are talking about him being held by DBs, he was held on most plays...I'd complain too.WNYRAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:59 pm ...tim brown always annoyed me by whining constantly for penalties, and he obviously annoyed refs too, as they began to not give actual legit penalties to us due to all of the constant whining.
....you 'going along with it' or not is of no concern to me, but he wasn't alone in 'being heldn to some extent on most plays', as is the case today, as well, and I know what I saw, and when watching with others, I would predict it real time, and they would agree when they saw the refs go out of their way to disregard him due to the constant drama.raidersince63 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 2:39 pm What kind of penalties would Tim Brown complain about...if you are talking about him being held by DBs, he was held on most plays...I'd complain too.
And not going along with the idea that Tim caused the officials to be biased against the Raiders.
So you're annoyed by every wr in the league?WNYRAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:59 pm ...tim brown always annoyed me by whining constantly for penalties, and he obviously annoyed refs too, as they began to not give actual legit penalties to us due to all of the constant whining.
lol...ok.WNYRAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 3:10 pm ....you 'going along with it' or not is of no concern to me, but he wasn't alone in 'being heldn to some extent on most plays', as is the case today, as well, and I know what I saw, and when watching with others, I would predict it real time, and they would agree when they saw the refs go out of their way to disregard him due to the constant drama.
....just a quick sample to give you something more than what I am sharing, and with us all knowing that refs are going to stay out of this stuff when it comes to going on record:
'Based on available reports and player testimonials from his era, Tim Brown was known to be vocal on the field, with opponents specifically labeling him a "crybaby" regarding officiating, including pass interference calls'.
...now, I am probably one of the least vocal here regarding our players when it comes to repeated criticisms, but Timmy literally drove me nuts with his whining.
No way is he top 5, I would say he about 9th or 10th best.CWood24 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 8:36 am Maxx is arguably Top 5 i’d say he could be considered elite but arguably on the bottom end of it but he is definitely not abysmal.
I always think about how good both him & Mack could have been together, possibly how we could have had one of the best pass rush duos of all time if Gruden hadnt blown it up
Garrett though is in a league of his own & he may be verging on being in the conversation with LT, Reggie White, Bruce Smith, JJ Watt, Aaron Donald etc of being the greatest defensive player of all time, another couple of years of this & it’ll be hard to argue against
It is win win for us whether Maxx stays or goes because we are stronger with him but will be in a better place to rebuild if he gets traded
And you are usually wrong and confused so this seems about right
If you look for it when attending a game in person you will see a player complaining about every flag. I really do not remember that about Tim Brown.WNYRAIDER wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 1:59 pm ...tim brown always annoyed me by whining constantly for penalties, and he obviously annoyed refs too, as they began to not give actual legit penalties to us due to all of the constant whining.
Agreed. Howie Long type commitment and the years afterwards are all Raiders related.Raiderman4 wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 11:18 am Let the best raider of the past 30 seasons retire as a raider
Schefter even said it yesterday, Bears have no money not gping to happen.Sold My Soul wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 8:28 pm Draft day speculation
MONROE FREELING
POSITION Offensive Tackle
SCHOOL Georgia
CLASS Junior
HEIGHT 6'7"
WEIGHT 315lbs
AGE 21.7yrs
Trade: Las Vegas sends Maxx Crosby to Chicago for the no. 25 overall pick and a second-round pick.
The Bears decide on draft day to take a big swing on edge rusher Maxx Crosby, and the Raiders get close to equal value in this deal to what Baltimore was offering. Through this trade, the Raiders get a shot to double-dip on offense, a necessary exercise given how badly the unit played a season ago.
I gave the Raiders tackle Monroe Freeling here, and the more of him I watch the more I believe he should be getting top-10 hype. He’s a smooth athlete and he packs a good punch for a relatively inexperienced tackle. The Ringer’s Danny Kelly compared him to Raiders tackle Kolton Miller, and I see the same kind of do-it-all skill set on tape, too.

...more now a days, for sure, and non wr wise, that thing mashomes does a long the sideline drives me just as nuts, but back to the topic at hand, we are obviously talking different eras, which is a big part of the point.....

....I remember actually seeing the refs faces smirking at him as if giving his a fu at times where it was obvious, and we really could have used a legit flag. ...the were obviously tired of his boy who cried pi routine....Toast wrote: Fri Mar 13, 2026 6:40 pm If you look for it when attending a game in person you will see a player complaining about every flag. ....in as much as we had the cap room to absorb the hit, this would be the bigger crime with what the ravens pulled, as for most teams, taking on the Maxx contract is something that needs to be considered prior to making any other fa moves, and that 2 day stall where interested teams had no sense that he may still be available and spent accordingly, had to have eliminated some of them from being able to do it financially.RenoRaiders75 wrote: Sat Mar 14, 2026 3:04 am Schefter even said it yesterday, Bears have no money not gping to happen.
