We were 12-3 and Carr finished 3rd in MVP voting one year, if that's not an advertisement for having a good O line I don't know what is. Also two project guys, Mayfield and Jones, recently landed in spots with very good O lines and instantly regained the promise they once had. There's no single way to successfully build it, but a really good O line can hide a lot of deficiencies on offense.RI RAIDER wrote: Wed Nov 26, 2025 7:33 am We had the best OL in football when vulva was here. How did that work out?
Yeah I don't get the my way is the only way mentality. There are plenty of examples of different ways. I guess that's the way people act about anything these days.Jeevo wrote: Wed Nov 26, 2025 11:54 am We were 12-3 and Carr finished 3rd in MVP voting one year, if that's not an advertisement for having a good O line I don't know what is. You are right. Carr did have a great year. How were his other years, some of which we had that same beast of a line? How did we afford that line (highest paid unit in the league)? Did Carr's rookie deal enable the team to pay for that line? That is why its important to have that QB on a rookie deal and build the team while he is on said contract. I never said it was the end all, be all. However, it clearly opens the door for a team to build some long term success.Jeevo wrote: Wed Nov 26, 2025 11:54 am We were 12-3 and Carr finished 3rd in MVP voting one year, if that's not an advertisement for having a good O line I don't know what is. Yep
Side not to this: if O'Connell is a Raider next year, it'll be his fourth system in four years... or is it third system in three years? Whatever, it's all the same.Attyla wrote: Wed Nov 26, 2025 9:46 amHere is the scary part, if O'Connell were coming out in 2026 he might be a top 5 guy in that draft among QBs and might go in the 2nd round.
Still shit. Make no mistake.Opoponax50 wrote: Thu Nov 27, 2025 7:29 am Side not to this: if O'Connell is a Raider next year, it'll be his fourth system in four years... or is it third system in three years? Whatever, it's all the same.
That's this team in microcosm.
He can't carry a team, but I have to wonder what he'd look like with a consistent OC.
Looks like he’s straight out of Wizard of Oz!
