In a lot of ways, this season has been a major success.

Title sounds silly but hear me out. The Vegas odds on the Raiders 2025 regular season record was 7.5 so lets say the Raiders meet expectations and win 7 or 8 games with a mediocre Geno Smith and 74 year old Pete Carroll who clearly isn't the coach he used to be. The organization would have likely been compelled to bring it all back for the 2026 season and keep going with the Band-Aid QB approach, once again not drafting a QB in the first round as they would be picking around 15/16. It's very possible the 2026 season could have melted down like this one with Pete being a year older, Smith being older and worse, etc. Bottom line is that the organization would continue treading the waters of losing and mediocrity. Seems like this season was always the eventual conclusion to the Carroll/Smith experiment and giving them another season would have been simply kicking the can down the road and going through this one year later.
As of now everything is clear going into the offseason. There will be no tough decisions on the coaching staff or starting QB. They are both gone and the team will very likely draft a QB with their top 3 pick. Now that in itself doesn't guarantee anything, but it's very clear that the veteran QB Band-Aid approach is not working and to unearth the next franchise QB, you have to draft them. It may not work out but they have to try or the seasons will continue to be pointless. Also a top 3 pick is going to be attractive to top head coach candidates as they know a rookie QB buys them time and it's an opportunity to build around their guy. Maybe, just maybe, the Raiders finally get something right in the offseason finding their QB and head coach. The odds are probably slim because a lot of QB's bust and Mark Davis is still in the building, but really it's the first time in a long time there is truly hope for better as there's real opportunity here for the organization to lay down the foundation to better days.

You know it really hard to stay positive with the raiders; we are really the worse team in the NFL and I cannot see the light at the end of tunnel; I will still support them till the day I die; I mean the right coach could come here and turn this team around quite quickly; but I don’t think the owner will do that; Mark probably in talks right now about bringing Belichek to vegas….
You know good coaches were available and Mark did nothing about bringing them to Vegas….Harbaugh and Payton were available a few years back and now we gotta face them twice a year….
There a possibility that Pete Carroll will be back in 2026; I hope not but it could happen
We know that both were contacted and both declined.

I’m not 100% convinced that with the OC and O-line we’ve fielded for most of this year things would have been demonstrably different if Aiden had started every game. That being said, we have to lance that boil and try to finally get that elusive elite QB this franchise has been missing for so long. Just get it done, and start the healing process.

So we would have won negative games?

Well I’m not sure things would have been any different.

YES!!!!!
A 2 win season has been a resounding success.
Even if you are on the tank wagon......
A 2 f[raiders_icon]cking win season by any measure is an abysmal failure.

A 2 win season is obviously an abysmal failure. But at this point, a 4 win season would be even more of an abysmal failure.

Mark Davis is getting fired? Yes, that would be a major success!

Got to finish the job by losing the next 2 weeks, guaranteeing the top pick Mendoza.
Tough mountain to climb, Spytek has to start stripping some of the veteran pieces now, whehter IL "stubbed toe, Maxx's knee....etc" Remove about 10 vets/starters from the roster, poach practice squadders from around the league and start them the next 2 weeks. Get all of our draft picks outside of Jeanty reps. Glaze to LG, Grant to RT. IF Carroll is not compliant with the personnel shifts, fire him now.

Reporter: Even with the failure of the season, were you surprised you were fired?
Carroll: No, I knew I would be fired when I refused to lose games.

It’s hard to have faith in Dart as a pocket passer when the team that drafted him doesn’t seem to have any. Interim head coach Mike Kafka called plays on Sunday as if he were terrified of exposing his rookie to a Brian Flores defense. The Giants called runs on their first four plays of the game, and Dart took just one dropback in the first quarter. He didn’t attempt his first pass until the second quarter and finished the first half with 10 total dropbacks. He ended the game with just 19, and New York trailed for most of the second half.
Can you say tank you very much?
There have been moments this season when Dart has looked the part of a future franchise quarterback, but we haven’t seen one of those moments in a while. And now Brian Daboll, the coach who pounded the table for him, is no longer around, and Joe Schoen, the general manager who made the pick, could be out of a job in a few weeks. If New York ends up with the first pick in the draft—a loss to the Raiders next week would give them a 65 percent chance of landing it, per The Athletic’s prediction model—the new regime will almost certainly be scouting quarterbacks. The Giants may have nothing to play for over the final two weeks, but Dart could be playing for job security.

Hmmm don't really follow the Giants much but I guess Dart has been struggling last few games, but rookie QBs , backups , guys coming off the couch usually have career days against the Raiders so lets hope this will be Darts get well game.

A 2 win season would look decent in a 4 game season. As a matter of fact, you might be on the bubble trying to make the playoffs.
Let that sink in.

I was about to say "Dart will be fine, he's just on a coachless team currently held together with duct tape and broken dreams"
BUT... it is the Giants, so he might not be fine.
I still have faith he can do us a favor and put us out of our misery. Dude is a dawg

Ive mentioned this before but There's a very real possibility that the Giants stay at 1 (if they get it), and take a qb. A new hc/gm may not like Dart that much and the dude seems to be a walking concussion. I don't see why they'd automatically just trade the pick as many have been saying
