It doesn’t. But it does increase the probability.
2019 and 2020 I thought this team was set up to turn the franchise around we were loaded to the gills with high picks, 5 1st rd picks a 2nd 4 3rd rd, 5 4th rd plus numerous others.
We pissed every one of them away.

Jets draft picks in the first two rounds of just the next 2 years.
2026
1st Round: NYJ own pick
1st Round: Pick from Colts
2nd Round: NYJ own pick
2nd Round: Pick from Cowboys
2027
1st Round: NYJ own pick
1st Round: From Colts
1st Round: From Cowboys
2nd Round: Jets pick
Nobody’s beatin’ that. If we both want Mendoza, we gotta be 1st.
Man, just another bit of info that shows how we’re the worst run organization in the NFL.
Also, f
ck you Doofus.
If the Raiders get the 1st pick, what would you be willing to take from the Jets for that pick?

I guess it would depend how far down the Jets end up picking, the farther down they are the more they would need to pay. But I would say if they drop out of the top 6, their 1st this year and a 1st and a 2nd next year or two ones this year and a 1 next year, hard to estimate how much they want a QB, actually a 1 this year and 2 1s next year would be the better situation

I remember the 1981 season. We were shut out three games in a row.
Earlier that 1981 Year, we took home SuperBowl XV against the Eagles. Injury plagued season that was 1981, Shell, Upshaw, Chandler, Davis missed alot of the season.

Super Bowl hangover to be sure. The 1978-1983 Raider draft classes were excellent. The infusion of those players did well to mitigate the loss of aging veterans in the years to follow. I always thought of 1981 as a lost season. We were leaving Oakland and there was a fair amount of roster turnover at key positions to younger players, and like you mentioned, a lot of injuries. Bobby Chandler was lucky to have survived his.
Ironically, I thought 1981 was Marc Wilson's best season as a Raider. He showed a lot of potential his sophomore year.

Ughhh I hated Marc Wilson with a passion, it's funny to think he has 2 superbowl rings. I wonder if the Raiders hadn't had him on the roster, would they have drafted one of the HOF QBs from the 83 draft. I know they supposedly made a play for Elway.

Wilson was notorious for putting way too much air under the ball, especially on longer downfield passes...resulting in "hospital throws" that often led to receivers getting hammered as the ball reached them...used to drive me nuts.

One of the possibilities of any pick is they are a miss. Higher picks are magnified because of the spotlight on them.
Us drafting like crap doesn’t help matters.

I was worried that releasing Fotu was to make room for Kolton Miller to return to the lineup, but hopefully this means Miller stays out. We really don't need to bring back a vet olineman for the final games, especially not the Giants game.
At this point we need to add young players to the roster, not vets.

If we’re sitting pretty at 1st, I’d ask for 4 1sts, then if it was accepted, I’d still have a hard time making the deal. Partially because I like Mendoza. Partially because I have no faith in Raider’s brass doing anything with those draft picks.

It's funny you say that. I listened to a James Lofton interview once and he said Wilson threw the best ball of any QB he ever played with.
He had some good moments. Injuries did him as did trying to live up to the $900,000 (per year) contract Al signed him to after Donald Trump tried to poach him off to play in the USFL.

Raiders unofficial depth chart for the game. Rogers and Grant apparently not starting.

We might score 3. But that's it
