Geno and poor qb play too, its not coincidence Seattle's line held up much better without him back there.Oaktownonly wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 3:06 pm The O-line will be better this year just by the presence of real coaching. Agreed. Talent was an issue and injuries were an issue… but without question these guys were coached down. Even beyond Brennan, we paid a boatload for Chip Kelly… and made him Run Pete’s ancient offence.Oaktownonly wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 3:06 pm The O-line will be better this year just by the presence of real coaching. I tried to warn you when you first got on the forum lol
When Rodgers started playing at RG late in the season; he actually got good scores from PFF.com; as for Grant; like you said; he still unknownRunOverByHubbard wrote: Thu Apr 09, 2026 11:36 am A lot of possibilities but so little concrete evidence that the line will be better at this point. It is so clear to all of us what a priority this is, that it is a no-brainer for the new management too. We can hope that the new folks are a lot smarter, experienced, and wise than prior regimes. I was not impressed with Glaze last year and there is that glaring stat of "pressures allowed." Grant and Rogers are basically unknown today and I'm sure that coaches will be working hard on revealing their potential or are they just more high draft choices to fail with the Raiders.
I am far from a fan of PFF and their scores. Hopefully Rodgers is for real. That being said, I would not want to put all the eggs in that basket given such a small sample size. We still have major question marks with our OL. OL should be priority #1 with our 2nd rd pick.SuperRaider wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2026 12:22 am When Rodgers started playing at RG late in the season; he actually got good scores from PFF.com; as for Grant; like you said; he still unknown
The eggs aren’t all in that basket. The IOL is Linderbaum, top tier starter. The other OG spot is JPJ, quality starter when on the field, with potential as top tier starter. Rogers, looked solid as rookie in the 6 games he played. With crap coaching & scheme. Plus you have Meredith who looked pretty good as a starter, at guard (not C) the year before, backing up. Plus Burford as another backup guard, who played well before when healthy. So yeah, the eggs aren’t all in the Rogers basket. Altho, it wouldn’t be a bad spot to be in if they were. Rogers was a good starting OG prospect who showed why he was considered that, last season.RI RAIDER wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 6:52 am I am far from a fan of PFF and their scores. IMO, IOL is far down the list of needs for this team now. There’s at least 5 positions above IOL as needs.
NT, OT, CB, S.
I have a feeling that Kubiak, Spytek and Dennison feel they already have the players they need for the O-line. 4th round may be the first round where they'll select an O-lineman. Round 2, probably a nose tackle. Round 3, a wide receiver. Or vice-versa.raider_kin wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 12:50 pm NT, OT, CB, S.
I exclude QB cuz we gonna draft Mendo. OT is a much greater need than WR.
I did say OL and there are question marks. Sure we got our #1 target in Linderbaum (and he was a must have). Sure we will have better coaching. However, JPJ is an obvious injury risk (as much as most of us love him). Rogers has a very small sample size. Hopefully he pans out but I do not think he has shown enough to make him some sort of guarantee. Glaze is an obvious weak spot. The trenches are how to build a team. Considering how much we have invested in offense, I would hope that we spend that 2nd pick on OL. I will not even comment about Meredith or Burford because you are far more optimistic in your assessment of them than I am. Again, I hope you are right, but I do not see it. I think OL is priority 1.MexicanHulk wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 9:59 am The eggs aren’t all in that basket. The IOL is Linderbaum, top tier starter. I’m definitely more optimistic on those players because of the film study done on them. Plus their track record of actually playing well (Burford/Meredith in the NFL for a full season & Rogers in college & the 6 games as a pro). & I’m not saying they’re guarantees or anything but, it’s an overall good situation to roll with. Meredith/Burford are absolutely very good as backup options.RI RAIDER wrote: Sun Apr 19, 2026 1:12 pm I did say OL and there are question marks. QB is Fernando.
