The Way Too Early Grade The Draft Thread

D+ we did not get our number one WR LOL
Actually, I like this draft, Spytek moved around a lot and got us some nice pieces. We did not get everything but it feels like Raiderland Christmas.
So let's see those overreaction grades. I know, I know, you cannot grade a draft for 3 years. Boo f[raiders_icon]cking Hoo. Lighten up Francis and grade this glorious weekend.
Mendoza by himself does not get us an A but the rest of the group certainly has to impress when put together. McCoy if he heals up makes the robber barons of the draft.
And there will be UDFAs and post draft pickups and drops. Tyree is going, well eventually, I mean the door s 40 yards away so it will take some time.
Grade A- but if McCoy pans out the grade could change.

USA Today:
Las Vegas Raiders: A
It didn’t take an expert to pick QB Fernando Mendoza No. 1 overall, and he will obviously define this draft through his ability to lift – or not – this long-suffering franchise out of a decades-long quagmire. But getting players like DB Treydan Stukes (second round), CB Jermod McCoy (fourth) and RB Mike Washington Jr. (fifth) is quite the needed talent infusion – the gamble on McCoy and his highly scrutinized knee atop Round 4 was a calculated risk with too much upside to bypass. It’s almost like getting the extra first-round pick GM John Spytek sought this year WHILE getting to keep DE Maxx Crosby.

Raiders grades:
Day 1 grade: A+
Day 2 grade: A
Day 3 grade: A
Analysis:
I suspected Jeanty's strength through contact and open-field burst wouldn't make it past the Raiders if he was still in the green room in Green Bay. General manager John Spytek and head coach Pete Carroll hit the right notes with Bech at receiver and Rogers and Grant improving the offensive line.
The Raiders needed at least two receivers in this draft, and they hit a home run with Thornton, an underutilized size/speed guy. Hemingway brings activity and Pegues size to the team's defensive line rotation. They picked both of the quarterbacks who played in the 2024 FCS Championship Game: Miller (North Dakota State) and Mellott (Montana State). Miller has potential as a reserve, and Mellott -- who put up elite workout numbers and ran routes as a receiver at his pro day -- was announced as a receiver when he was picked.

Won't even attempt to give a final grade of the draft until about half way through this season. I do believe that we addressed some of our needs but until we're a few games into the season and we actually are able to see what we've got, I'll curb my enthusiasm.
There were a few people that were initially losing their cabbage after the first pick of day 2...luckily, time allows for a change in judgement and they eventually came around and realized that the draft wasn't so bad after all.
Looking forward to seeing some of our picks on the field and hoping for the best.

The only positive is that Thorton has another chance to be a marquee player for us.
You'd bitch if you were hung with a new rope.

It is really obvious that you make quick, shallow opinions and never change them. Height. Weight. Speed. Analysis locked for life .

Yes I noticed.

Clearly an "A." Franchise QB, got athletically gifted/physically dominant players at positions of need, including a first round talent in the fourth... oh, and a potentially very nice secondary piece to the run game. as much success as the rookie RBs have been having over the last few years, this could be a nasty one-two punch from the jump. pretty much, the Raiders are now competent, and we all need to adjust to the crazy f[raiders_icon]cking fact that this could be the new norm... its all coming to fruition before our eyes, fellas. don't be like mranquales and look for every reason to not ride the wave we have been waiting for for an eternity. leave his ass behind, lets go!

First draft in a while where it didn't feel like the Raiders were bringing a knife to a gun fight. Give em an A

I would have like MacDonald in the second, but Spytek and Kubiak obviously despised our secondary and prioritized them.

I give it an A-
I think we saw a shift in Raider drafting philosophy, I liked the the wheeling and dealing throughout and it looks like they let the scouting do the talking

Bolts had a decent draft but pretty sure ours was better. They got Mesidor and a bunch of latter round OL (4).

The only positive is that Thorton has another chance to be a marquee player for us.
Imo people are ridiculous writing off players so fast. We have at least 4 rookies that got little to no time last year and definitely not quality time while in with the mess of an offense we had. That is 4 players in a better position this year to perform.
If someone is high on this draft but are going to judge the players quickly, you are going to be disappointed again and again.
Each of these players are going to meet their match in the NFL.
