Game Day thread: the mighty Josh Allen rolls the dice in Las Vegas
Which is the most likely outcome?
The Raiders revert to last year and lose by 20.
We battle them in a close game but don’t have enough talent on offense to win.
In a pleasant surprise we pull out a win with a decent running game that helps Cousins complete some downfield passes.
The Bills are 5.5 point favorites and the O/U is 53,5 Hemingway and Zuhn look to be out. I saw one thing that says Bowers is doubtful with a knee but the official NFL report says Full Participation in the last practice
I just want to see progress and smart football, like no head butting the opponent. Will N. Dean be the spy on Allen?

Maybe he needs to get bodyslammed a couple of times by a huge defensive lineman and he might feel differently when the game is over.Raider_Dave wrote: Sun Oct 18, 2026 4:33 pm Mendoza is even practicing running out to mid field to greet opposing QB.

Dude, quit. Cousins is playing great. Better than any QB since Gannon.

I hope Maxx is gone. I would add Stokes to the list to. I have never seen a vet CB not look at the ball as much as he does. There have been at least a half dozen big plays given up this year where he was focusing on his man and had NO IDEA someone was running by with the ball. I would like to off Paye as well but I doubt someone bites.

The next draft should be all about trenches. Of course I said the same thing last draft. If we could run and stop the run we're a legit contender.
Spytek did pick up some nice pieces though. Stukes, Masses, both good rookies. N. Dean was a huge get. Linderbaum would look a lot better with some competent guards beside him. Miller would too. Glaze has shown big improvement. We're getting close.
And quit all this talk about trading Maxx! We're not that far away.

Trading Maxx is the smart move. We are improved but not that close yet. He will pay diminishing returns when we ultimately get there. We have to many holes not to trade him. Maxx is a stud and loved by all. That being said, we would be far better off with the 4 players (2 draft picks and 2 TOP FA signings) that we would be injecting into our lineup. I have confidence is Spy and there would be nothing better than to get a couple of more starters on rookie contracts.

Currently second highest scoring team in the NFL. Even with an old QB, weak guard play, and a ground game that can't get out of its own way sometimes.
Our problem is the defense.
Fix it and its a playoff team.

Not sure if this is 100% correct, and a lot can happen before we get to that point, but it’d be nice to solidify one Guard spot with the flick of a pen.

I get your point and it's not a bad one. To me, its just creating another hole. 99% chance no one we draft will be as good. Maxx has been a bargain overall, made a 4th rounder salary half his career. Some more pieces and this could be a great team. Before the season began I was on board with trading him, I just don't see the need now. We have a full gambit of draft picks.RI RAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 5:24 am Trading Maxx is the smart move. We are improved but not that close yet. Edit: I would add, removing Maxx weakens a group that's weak already. We need to add to the trenches, not take away. In my opinion.

Sure it would suck to trade Maxx (one of our all time greats) and have a hole there. Lord knows we already have a ton of holes. However, having 2 high draft picks (with Spy calling the shots) and signing 2 higher tiered FA's takes care of many of those holes. We are still a rebuilding team and having as many kids on rookie contracts is the way to rebuild. Props to KK for giving our kids some run and developing them. We have some time before Fernando is going to cost us big cap. Its imperative to know what we have in him sooner than later. With our schedule starting to get MUCH tougher, I think a dose of reality is going to set in. No doubt we are an improved team (the bar was VERY low), but we have a LONG way to go if we are being honest.Amish Cabal wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 6:53 am I get your point and it's not a bad one. this to me is the right route to take, no waiting on a rookie to see if he play high level or not, just sign a good guard or two and take a few swing oline guys later in the draftGoodTimeCharlie wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 5:58 am Not sure if this is 100% correct, and a lot can happen before we get to that point, but it’d be nice to solidify one Guard spot with the flick of a pen.

i would love to see fernando play now, his ability to run with the ball would add a different dimension tot he offense plus his balls come out like bullets vs noodle armRI RAIDER wrote: Mon Oct 19, 2026 7:23 am Sure it would suck to trade Maxx (one of our all time greats) and have a hole there.
