We tend to think in this very myopic manner. No decision when it come to millions of dollars is ever made singlehandedly, or more to the point there should never be one made by one person. I know Davis hired Gruden on his own, and has made other costly decisions on his own, but the idea of trading an asset that is good at his job and where you are investing millions as one person's job to decide? I would say at the very least you discuss with the owner, certainly the head coach and in this case Brady as well. It should never be a snap decision. Hours of discussions should be the norm and not the exception.raidersince63 wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 11:42 am Oh yeah, Spytek should indeed call the shots, but I gotta believe that he and Mark at least talked it over.
I agree with all of this.Attyla wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 12:08 pm We tend to think in this very myopic manner. And you have to have a goal, if you are trading Maxx. Are you wanting players or picks. If it is picks, what is the absolute minimum you will settle for. And then you need a trade partner. We tend to forget that there has to be interest to the level of your basement price. Are you wanting a first, or a first and a first. Or are you wanting a first and a day 2 pick? Value is placed by the interest and not the demands. You can set your notion of value by the demand but the market decides the value ulitmately.
Absolutely...I think Spytek and Mark have already formed an opinion on what to do with Maxx one way or the other but perhaps also want KK's input and if that's the case, we may know very soon what the decision is.Attyla wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 12:08 pm We tend to think in this very myopic manner. I like the approach but in actuality it wouldn’t free up $35 mil as you would be taking on said traded players contract.raidersince63 wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 12:59 pm Absolutely...I think Spytek and Mark have already formed an opinion on what to do with Maxx one way or the other but perhaps also want KK's input and if that's the case, we may know very soon what the decision is.
As far as picks, it may also be possible that a team has plenty of depth at OL/DL and may be willing to offer a solid lineman AND a draft pick.
SF is one of a few teams who tend to value established players over inexperience draftees who may or may not pan out as pros. I believe they are drafting 27th or so, so their 1st round pick is pretty damn close to being a round 2 early pick. And I doubt we can actually get 2 first rounders in exchange for Maxx.
But freeing up another $35 Mil in cap space AND getting another team's player AND their 1st round pick would be hard to turn down and would give us a ton of flexibility going into the 2026 season.
Exactly. That was my very first thought.chucker wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 10:05 am Dana White is fully convinced that he could get a lot of viewers if he could get Maxx to fight. It's all about the $$$ and playing on egos is effective and profitable.
Doofus is the friend whose opinion you ask so you at least know what NOT to do.Dr Death wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 12:31 pm I agree with all of this.
We all know Mark is a doofus, but he does own the team. As such, he has every right to be involved in "his team". I don't think his involvement is really a bad thing until he overrides better decisions made by people with far greater football knowledge.... or foregoes said people altogether. If I owned the team, you can bet your ass I would be involved with at least the money side of things.
Mark is a doofus..... just making that clear.![]()
I ask Ivan.GoodTimeCharlie wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 2:49 pm Doofus is the friend whose opinion you ask so you at least know what NOT to do.
Speaking of Ivan why hasn't he had a wellness check like CK???
Possibly the worst trade ever (possibly the most corrupt as well), supposedly the gm didn't tell the owner nearly enough before making it.Dr Death wrote: Sun Feb 08, 2026 12:31 pm I agree with all of this.

The GM never shopped for a better offer which they totally would have got (the fishy corrupt part) and wouldn't you know it, look what team got thee player (more of the corruption)?
Talking about Doncic.
So with that example, the owner should always know the big one's ahead of time, to protect their team and at least pass a smell test.
The Mavericks have been sent backwards hard on the court and with fans.
Lol. I don't think he knows either.
Well I can assure some on this forum question whether your takes are sound..you know Apocalypse now type of shit...your not the genius you think you are...just saying;) Trubisky LMAO!!!
Luka Doncic.
