Bye Geno
It is time to just say it, you are gone and while i had hope you could do the job, you could not, so when you leave, make sure you take some towels and some mini shampoos with as a parting present. Compliments of the house.

Yep, I think Geno is gone the instant the new league year starts but I'm sure we'll know that well in advance.4815162342 wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 1:39 pm Geno's got guaranteed salary, so the earliest he can be officially released is when FA starts (it's because of the way cap accounting is done with guaranteed salary accelerating, and the books being closed on the current year).
Also given the structure of his deal, cutting him results in the same dead money allocation as a straight cut, so there's no point to that.
Likely we get a "Raiders will release Geno when the new league year starts" type of message at some point.

Maybe we were the worst and nepotism made it look that way?heavyD wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 10:34 am The Raiders OL was not the worst pass blocking OL in the NFL. Geno just made it look that way. Smith was the worst starting QB over the 2025 NFL season because he’s no good, end of story.
I can see tape of Geno killing it, just not with the Raiders.

They've already let him know.

Huh? The OL was the worst in the NFL by just about every metric. Just because Geno sucked doesn't mean that the OL didn't too.heavyD wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 10:34 am The Raiders OL was not the worst pass blocking OL in the NFL. Geno just made it look that way. Two things can be true. Geno sucks but we had the worst ol in the league.

This is true. They did not make holes for the running game (hence the stat of our RBs being greeting behind the LOS quicker than any other team) and they were crappy at pass blocking -- Geno was harassed left and right. But, he also was bad at getting rid of the ball, threw off his back foot more than just about any QB I have seen, and I could go on. I was fooled by the game he played vs. the Patriots. I thought Carroll had really pulled one off in that trade. I wish we had that 3rd round choice now -- the Seahawks will use it well.DanKD wrote: Thu Jan 08, 2026 8:07 pm https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-final-2025 ... e-rankings

f[raiders_icon]ck that POS but PC is the one to blame.
We traded a 3rd for him, gave him a new contract and he acted like a punk ass bitch!
I said from the beginning this was a huge mistake and while we didn't help him at all with the OL play nor WR play...he's not a good player.
