I think the idea that we have the worst situation is ridiculous. The Raiders have the #1 draft pick among 10 total draft picks - plus the second most cap space in the league, without losing any key FAs. It's an attractive destination and I think it could be argued that it's the most attractive destination for some candidates. But people get paid to make lists...... and it really doesn't matter what they think in the end.

Without the #1 pick and path to a qb i might agree but that pick and being to get Mendoza changes everythingchucker wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:22 am I think the idea that we have the worst situation is ridiculous. Don't real teams allow a new coach to bring in his own assistants? Seems like the top guys would have an idea who they want to work with...RunOverByHubbard wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 10:55 am Wouldn't we expect the new coach and Spytek to clean house -- as in goodbye to Graham and Olson as well as the sons and cousins of Carroll?

You can interview coaches who are in the playoffs with permission. I think you can zoom meet or you can travel with permission. You can even hire pending when they are no longer coaching. I would think that is our courseRickRyb wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:19 am That poses an interesting question. Do The Raiders select someone quickly of those available? Or do they do an internal evaluation of all possibilities, including playoff coaches, and wait until those coaches become available risking losing out?
Outside of like 7 players this roster is complete shit. Mendoza is an unknown, as is the rest of the draft and FA. If you want to base the list off of what could be in a perfect world then sure. If you base it off of the current known situation, then you can't possibly believe that we are one of the most ideal landing spots.chucker wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:22 am I think the idea that we have the worst situation is ridiculous. They are already requesting interviews. No doubt. One of the top guys is in the playoffs.

I have absolutely no idea what would make Cleveland a more attractive destination. Terrible QB situation, and negative cap space...... what the f[raiders_icon]ck?DanKD wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:26 am Without the #1 pick and path to a qb i might agree but that pick and being to get Mendoza changes everything

Agree. I think it was pretty well known fact that Kellen was going to the Saints even though he was still coaching in the playoffs.Attyla wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:29 am You can interview coaches who are in the playoffs with permission. Just my opinion, but I think the next information regarding any coaches we hear from The Raiders will be the announcement of who the new Head Coach is. After that will come the flood of coaches who are being let go.rhumbob wrote: Mon Jan 05, 2026 11:27 am Don't real teams allow a new coach to bring in his own assistants?
