Obvious Mendoza #1 no consideration of trading that pick.
But who you got picks 2 - 4 thats going to help Mendoza.

#2 Raiders should be able to select WR Chris Bell or WR KC Concepcion with our early 2nd.

#3 I forget who it was, but someone here mentioned that the best pure dominant RT coming out of college could be got in the 3rd. And stated hes played his whole career at RT, and not being moved around the line.

Sounds like solid gets

Id hope the rest of the draft is building the trenches, with maybe 1 DB in there

Who else you like ?

Not writing them off but they look more like 3rd - 5th guys on a depth chart that should work their way up at this point.
I disagree somewhat. Bech didn’t look in over his head at all. Maybe slightly at the very beginning of the season. The problem was, the idiot coach & his kids didn’t play him. Plus the terrible OC. When he finally did play, he looked solid. Thornton on the other hand, did seem raw. He did display some flashes of big play ability, adjusting to the ball for some good looking contested catch ability but, he definitely needs more experience. He has to get a feel for the nuances of the game & polish off some of the routes he can be good at. But after the first few games, he didn’t play. So we couldn’t see what actual growth he coulda had in a good system with good coaching.

Bech I have a pretty good feeling about. Thornton, I like but, will he put in the work to get stronger &, better at the WR traits he’ll need.

P.S.
I completely forgot about Germie Bernard in one of last posts. That he’s one of the WRs I do like. To me, he’s in that Egbuka, Calvin Ridley mold. Very smooth, deceptive speed &, clean route running. Not that he’s as good as Egbuka but, that’s the play style. Egbuka is a bit faster than his tho. Ridley is a little better comp.

I think scheme fit matters immensely. Yes you may run various schemes, but you also have your core. There is a difference between power blockers and good zone blockers. Some corners are great in zone and some are clueless. There's a difference between 3-4 LB, ends and DTs than 4-3. You cant just take Larry Brown and ask him to play bump and run.

I agree. There will be value for OG with our 2nd pick. The league still does not value guards. Its tougher to get an immediate starting RT in that spot so we may have to wait until next season. Pregnon is a beast and will be a day one starter. Let JPJ take the other sport and we are good to go. I think Burford is a depth signing and was never intended to be a starter off the jump.

I actually hate this mock, it is almost like the guy is pushing guys up or down to stack the deck for a few teams. Interestingly the Patriots draft if it fell like this would be set up.

Attyla wrote: Fri Mar 27, 2026 7:31 am Actually I disagree. And don't assume you know what I know. We just spent a ton in free agency for a very expensive position and it was the right thing to do. We may go receiver in the draft but that does not mean we are taking into consideration future contracts by doing so. We may go offensive line. We certainly could go defensive line. But no matter what I want us to be true to the board and not worry about free agency money or second contract money when we draft. That is absolutely the wrong way to draft. I just don't want position to dictate the pick, I want the talent to dictate the pick. Down the draft? Maybe position overrides talent to a degree, but on day one and day two, you get the best player regardless of position.
Agree, especially in a year like this one where we pick high in every round.

In most drafts, including this one, there are about 40 guys who are worthy of a 1st round pick. Maybe 10 guys who are true blue chip prospects, and 30 more who are expected to be quality starters, and could very well be more.

36 is a perfect place to get one of the “leftover” guys in that group. I’m hoping for an OT, but I’d rather end up with a WR with a borderline 1st round grade than an OT with a borderline 3rd round grade.

I proposed a trade up for an OT, and if that’s what we do I won’t hate it, but I think I’ve come around to the idea of being patient and seeing who is there at 36. There will be good players available, and most likely one of them will fill one of our (many) needs

Price at 49? Hurts the guys credibility. If he was there at 36, I would grab him. Talk about a two headed monster. Its not a need but the value would be crazy.

A true No.1 WR right now is somewhat of a luxury for us when we desperately need to build the trenches because that is where we’ll win games, if an elite WR falls for some reason then yeah we should take him

Bowers is our no.1 option, people seem to be forgetting that he finished 8th in yards in his rookie season that is considered abnormal.

We have arguably THE best TE room in the NFL with Bowers & Mayer, two WR who are great route runner on Nailor & Bech ( small sample size but Bech looked good when we saw him), two real deep threat in Tucker & Thornton plus Jeanty who is a top tier dual threat RB

Mendoza has better options than people think but he needs protection & guys on the other side of the ball who can put the ball back in his hands

OL & DL for me are the biggest needs & we’re in a real deep class for both

Pete may have done us a favour last year not playing the young guys as much cause it has gave them a year to a to acclimatise to the NFL, fingers crossed last year ineptitude has work in our favour & Spytek has stock piled some young talent

Like i said. A few of the picks i would do different. I'm more of saying it addresses some of our needs. And that it's not the worst I've seen.

I wouldn't mind trading down in the 2nd and adding another pick.....yet it all depends on who is there at DT and WR spots too.

I'd like to truly build the OL...I'd really like for us to trade down and get Pregnon or Dunker and add Taylor Decker to play RT for the year, while adding another RT "project" in the 4th.
Lining up Miller, Dunker, Linderbaum, JPJ and Decker with Grant, Mafi, Meredith, Rogers & Glaze/DRAFT PICK would be a pretty solid line for us this year I think.

As bad as management and coaching and ownership was last year, no one can accurately assess what we had in our OLmen as far as last year goes. Same can be said about what we have added from the FA market as well as what we may acquire through the draft. "We don't know what we don't know>"

But a complete turnaround this year is a stretch...oh, sure we may win a few more games this year but we will likely still be a last place team at the end of this season. It will likely take at least the first half of this year for management, coaching, play calling, and all of the new faces to get on the same page.

But I believe by the end of this year the Raiders will be much more competitive and next year actually have a winning record.
