I'm mostly avoiding this thread, because there's nothing new to say and it's become like the thread of a former Raider QB.

And nobody is asking, but I don't think either AJ Brown or Crosby are cancers. I find their histrionics annoying but I think it's more of a public/media/fan issue than an issue with teammates. Both guys work hard and want to perform and win. They both make whatever team they are on better.

In both cases, there is a value proposition - are they worth the compensation you pay them plus the opportunity cost of keeping them instead of trading them?

I'm tired of the conversation, so I now rarely post on the Max topic..... it'll heat up as we approach the new league year and as his recovery from surgery progresses.

It was more fun to answer that way.

I have backed away from that opinion myself. Maxx has really been the only bright spot through the Gruden-Carroll turmoil thus he gets a lot of attention. I think this is more of the media trying to peddle drama. Social media is easy to spin.

It's not as though he was quoted that he would like the bury the hatchet between Mark Davis's shoulder blades of course the 1970's were a different time.

I definitely agree with you, those guys aren't cancers. I was merely pointing out the logical fallacy in defending Maxx but saying AJ Brown is a cancer. Maxx's actions put me over the edge into "Absolutely trade him" territory, but if he was able to shut up I'd consider trading him anyway simply because he's old and not a natural pass rusher like other elite DE's. Brown is younger, is more productive than Maxx, and in his best years has been more dominant than Maxx.

I push back against his actions and his rhetoric because I think there's a double standard. I hate to be the guy to defend Carr but since he was brought up.... Dude's words were deconstructed and twisted in wild ways towards the end in order to question his character. But somehow Maxx's character is above reproach. And when I see folks say Brown is a "cancer" but go to war for Maxx I wonder what exactly the ruler of measurement is. Feels intellectually dishonest. Unfortunately we do have to wait to get some news, and as long as I'm bored I'll have to come back here and argue with chatbots.

Maxx is old and Brown is young? Brown is 2 months older than Maxx. I think you just think Maxx' act is old, because you've had a front row seat for it. :loltears:

CBS Sports posted this story today: Five trades the Raiders could make for Maxx. I don't like most of it -- picks too low, or not enough picks, or both:

Actually, he did.

I think she may have started to, but never actually said "dollars". Whatever it was, it was not a good look.

I don't see any of this maybe because I don't follow his every word online. It's odd people go out of their way to catch every quote yet are yelling him to STFU. It's like going to the same movie every night and complaining about the movie.
This thread goes way beyond reading between the lines it's twisting things to make them say something to get mad about

It is funny to be sure. Now Maxx did say that he had mentors tell him to shut up, whether that was a voice on the team or not, he did not say. Is he an attention whore? Hard to say, he is opinionated so he likes to express his opinion. Does he seek out shows to be on or are the shows reaching out to him? Again, hard to say, we don't have a total grasp of that. Has he demanded a trade? Again, hard to say, we don't know what the conversations are about. I do know, though, if I were demanding a trade, I would be working out, but not at the team facilities no matter how nice they are. If I were demanding a trade, I would not be sitting down for a cup of coffee with the guy I don't want to work for. Was he mad enough to miss a day of work? Maybe, or maybe the team told him to stay away. There are people with enough motivation to lie on that front for sure. But dammit, trade him, he won't close his yapper. Trade his ass, he missed a day of work. Trade his ass, he won't take plays off. But keep his ass, he is the best player on the team. Keep his ass, he is the leader of the team. And on and on. I just want a winner. You want multiple guys who are really good at their job in every position room you can get. It is like your favorite rock band. Get four guys together who can play their asses off and then get a shit drummer because he is a nice guy and always says the right things. Yup, that is the team we have been watching, except we do the opposite. We get a great drummer, and then a bunch of guys who can play three chords, only one only knows the flat chords, one the minor chords and the other guy cannot even tune his instrument.
